@silvericemint Have you try it before the sugar and Lime is added? it does taste like corn but not like yellow corn or blue corn..it has it's own flavor, you have to try it. "Chicha morada" it's just the name of the drink but as soon as the purple corn is boiled you can taste its unique flavor, (the sugar and lime just enhance it )

Although l considered cebiche one of the best dishes of our country l wouldn't mention it as the first because the lilst is countless!! Pollos a la brasa is one of my favorite and l highly reconmend it!!

Don't forget Peru is the land of the Potatoe ( not Idahoe ), with more than 3,000 varieties. Unlike american potatoes, which are starchy, peruvian potatoes have a high protein content.

Cusco is the mother land of the potatoes, not Idaho! in Peru they have over 200 kind of potatoes in different shapes and colors =)

Pachamanca is great typical dish, pork cooked underground with peruvian spices from the highlands, very delicious with potates, sweet potatoes, lima beans, etc inca style centuries ago, gotta try that, dude!!!

Very funny video, and funny the comments in the live chat as well. Chris, you pronounced 'piña' perfectly fine, don't worry. My list would be a little different than Arturo's, but all in all he got those dishes right. I would probably take 'arroz chaufa' aside and insert 'lomo saltado' instead. Lomo saltado is a stir-fry dish made out of beef, onions, tomatoes, and french fries (yes, you read it right, french fries). :)

There are even MORE types of food in Peru, believe me , you'll be surprised. There are some peruvian foods which may look like other foods, but the ingredients are not the same trust me.

Arroz chaufa ain't exactly peruvian.. but moste ppl seem to like it.

Macchu picchu is considered one of the 7 wonders and the real pisco is peruvian ;)

BTW.Chicha morada DOES NOT taste like corn!! lol!! it rly doesn't so don't ever be afraid of it.
