I always assumed that the reference to the pallid mask was drawn from the Chambers reference to "No mask ? He doesn't wear a mask ?" by Cassilda, from the King in Yellow. Are you referring to its treatment in a RPG scenario perhaps ?

Well, many years ago, before japan remake mania, I saw a movie titled RINGU and then...
I like Hideo Nakata, Kyoshi Kurosawa, Takashi Miike, Shimizu, Higuchinsky, Hideshi Hino and many others. Fortunately, our video looks like their works only in this young creepy girl (but no black hair, in this case!), and perhaps in a registic choise.

Japanese horror is one of many inspirations of this project. Others are 80s movies and directors like Peter Weir, David Lynch, Werner Herzog, David Cronenber. a really pout-pourri, yes...
