I'm not sure how photoshop works on a PC, because I haven't really used it on a PC, but on a Mac it does that by default. You can set it to be more like a window, but I think it's a lot better leaving it that way.

An apple is the way to go. But I mean an actual apple. I make pigment, parchment, and brushes from the apple. Then I eat one for a snack. I got my bucket tool from the hardware store. It carries the apples.

They're there. For the paint bucket tool, it's probably hidden under the gradient tool. Hold your mouse down over that button and you should see a small flyout menu.
