Back then it was so devastating when a wrestler left or retired. They built up a character, a legacy and the crowd reacted. Whether you loved or hated a guy you had reason for it. Piper is a prime example of someone who was hated but respected for what he did for the business as a heel. He was just as effective as a face too.

I also love his movies "They Live" and "Hell Comes to Frogtown". Piper imho, is by far the best actor out of the bunch of wrestlers who made the move to Hollywood. He doesn't try to act, he just does. Like it's second nature. I really hope he makes an appearance at the Hulkamania tour in Australia! Imagine him fighting Ric Flair again, hehe!
