  • my first 2 ducks were wood ducks.

  • @citalopram40mg same here

  • first duck i shot was a woody

  • Perhaps you could think about shooting them with a camera? I hunt all kinds of birds that way and have been dying to get a good image of one of these beauties.

  • mrduckman I live in Ohio and we jump shoot them from small creeks along cornfields plenty in the early season ,,I would like to try to decoy them in with a DC call

  • North Carolina= wood ducks

  • @TheBlegg nevada equals banded wood ducks

  • @sniper...Ahhh, you mean you don't like a duck that tastes like a bad sardine??lol

  • I got my first 3 of these guys this year. A beauty duck. unfortunately the one drake was not in full plumage. best tasting duck yet.

  • see this is why i dont understand why the dont put an early season in for woodies. i live in ohio and by the time regular season comes we dont have any they are so hard to find in regular season but there are so many of them in early but were not aloud to shoot them why dont they put in an early season for them?

  • @Mrduckman97fly Come to Georgia. All we have here is woodies. I would do anything to get in some pintails and mallards.

  • @Mrduckman97fly because your state produces them, as does mine (PA). We are a breeding and nesting ground for wood ducks. . Although they do not stand cold temperatures, most of the wood ducks that you're asking to shoot during your early season have not begun their migration yet, and get off the hook so to speak when it comes to you being able to get to them before they leave. Good luck this season you could always catch a straggler who's late to the party, got one in december last year.

  • I'm from Arkansas and I've hunted ducks most of my life. I would trade every Mallard I could for more Woodies. They're my favorite by far.

  • we have ALOT of these in SC maybe yall could trade some mallards for some wood ducks haha

  • dude i love my wood ducks hell with the mallards although i wanna start killin hooded mergansers i hunt central sc around sparkleberry swamp and around the sumter area where do you hunt?
