scarface?? well the love in that movie is nonexistent not deserving to get compared w/ this one ..maybethe crime violence is jst what's common to all these three gangster movies but love bet. man and woman is best felt on once upon a time..in godfather and scarface movies it dont really gets pinned down..only plain couple relationship is shown there not the real reflections of strange unreal love existing bet this noodle soup and devilrah charachters...
Ah yesss tipical jewish behaviour always despising the people that are not as smart or as clean or as talented as themselfes, well Noodles is a street boy who's parents didnt own a street cafe or nothing similar he is forced to steal in order to survive like most of the people in those years but that certanly does not make him a cockroach as Deborah states or less human than her, am i correct???
yep 2:36 to 2:40, i have always wonder if that's a body double or is it her, Because if she is. One camera must have been hidding in the back facing her full frontal body. The director would never have miss this tender opportunity......i know you would, if you were the director. ( where is that film!!!)
"Scarface"? Huh?? Yeah I think it's safe to say that this movie is a little better than scarface, in the same way that a Da Vinci painting outranks a jackson pollack. Good lord the morons are out in force today.
@Alfrunk Not really comparable. I like your comparison, except I would say Da Vinci vs. Van Gogh, not Pollock. They both are ground-breaking movies in their own right, this one monumental, very paced and multi-leveled, Scarface is more focused and chaotic. To be really honest, I do think this one deserves more accolades, but I've seen Scarface about 5 times more than this one, mainly because its more compact and focused.
wow. this must be the greatest musical accompaniment to any film I have ever seen. First viewed it back in 1998 and was bowled over by it. Most welcome on YouTube
She knew he was spying on her, so she continues to tease him, driving him crazy. Then at 02:58 she shouts to her brother, "fats", that he should "spray the toilets [she] saw a cockroach in there."

I wish people wouldn't debate the superiority of this movie over Godfather. it's like debating Mozart v Beethoven

@malcabro That was in fact a body double of a legal age actress. She obviously had the body of a younger woman.

Out in force eh? it's a matter of opinion you simple minded prick. Now take your Da Vinci painting and shove it up your ass.
I personally prefer this movie but that's my business.

'Amapola' - I also play the clarinet. If, by any remote chance you have 'Sibelius', I can send you the score.

What a wonderful film! Why this movie never won Oscars aross the board will never cease to amaze me.
Thank you, Hades, for posting this. A piece of art in a world devoid of it.

Noodles should've given himself up for Deborah. He got caught up in the hell of it all, she was the light and only meaning in his life.

Deborah balla al ritmo della famosa canzone "Amapola" inserita nel film e fusa molto bene con le musiche di Ennio Morricone
