First of all, the Wii has only been out for less than 2 and a half years. PS2 sold about 45 million through three years. So it's about 5 million sales ahead, in less time.
The Wii is below the PS2 in sales. Simply check any sales chart on the internet and you will see that. Taking the fact that the Wii will have a drop at its sales in this year, as stated in the video, the Wii would be unable to surpass the PS2, even in its living years. On the aftermath years, same thing.
What I think is that it is just easier to make a casual game, and they are allowed to do it. I do agree though that there should be more games for people like me, (big superpowers, colorful robot and swinging-weapons fanatic).

Actually, some weeks ago, some magazine (I don't remember which) said the new game would be announced during E3 (June), but that we would get "something" before. I think it'll be just a name, a logo, maybe a screenshot.
We just have to wait for june. Like, almost 100 days, but if this news is real, then we can't wait XD

Next, he also said that TP was going to be the last Zelda game to use to OoT engine (though we'll see about that). Next, Iwata has said that Nintendo is going to use a new approach to announcing titles: You'll hear about a game, and then get to play it very soon afterwards.
He said this was because there is too much information out on the Internet about a game before it comes out, so the anticipation builds to a point that a game can't match, which makes sense, as TP was first announced at E3 2004, but wasn't released until 2 1/2 years later. I'd predict that they'll announce the title at GDC, then show the game at E3, then release it in November. Nothing else would really make any sense.

Either. Normally, people either do a battle sim or a walking sim, but if you decide you want to work a ton on it, you could make a huge Pokémon game. It would really take a LOOOOONG time, though. If you do a huge game, it'll be like you're a real programmer.
Besides, with all the *cough*shitty*cough* pokemon on the 4th gen they have already covered everything that could be "legendarized", even God, what's next?
Aside from the 2nd gen pokemon being made with great imagination and creativity, I loved Gold because you got to go to Kanto too.

Dude, the Wii is att 50 mil shipped, and almost that number sold, in just over 2 years. The PS2 got 150 sales in about 7 or 8 years. Do the math.
And this was WITHOUT the massive barrage of hardcore games the other consoles have been getting.

Even by conservative estimates (minus 40 million from Wii's total sales) it could still come close, with Wii coming out on top

My moneys on a GDC announcement regarding a trailer which should see the light of day at E3. Like you say all we have are deductions from what they've said and they're so contradictory it hurts!
However, by the summer we'll have a date given to us(holidays this year I would hope)as they can't afford big delays.Good or bad?IDK

If you type in 'zelda gdc 2009' in google, a bunch of links come up with speculation about how Zelda might be announced in March, but they are just rumours.

wait because if you hype a zelda game like the fans did with zelda TP,the game will not look very good.and look at ALTTP to OOT,that was pretty long and that zekda game was on of the best.lots of games have been hyped and haven't looked very well.

NOW! listen up there is a rumor that on march 23rd to the 27th the new zelda game will be announced so they might release it then. Well they havent made a new zelda game in about 2 years so what they could be doing is working on the zelda game, and trying to finish it by march 27th. Well I dunno just a idea...

Yeah, I was thinking about this too. Instead of only working on major franchises, Nintendo should get some new big unique franchises out there. I would be happy with a new Zelda, though (I would not be complaining).

I really hope there is an actual release in 2009... The Wii really need some better games. I bought one in the hopes of getting something epic, and so far all I've got is LoZ :TP, Brawl, and FE: Radiant Dawn. Another Zelda installment would be great, but I just hope they don't screw it up.

that timeline is amazing cause it shows a gap between the 1-2nd gen, 2-3rd gen consoles but that's understandable cause nintendo had to go over all of the new technology. But for them to come out with the wii version of TP first was odd.

Well, they've already confirmed that they're "working on them [Zelda Wii and some other new Wii games]" but they haven't said any real news other than that. :|

I know exactly what you mean. I guess i should be a lot more clear haha. I wish they would remake all of the games into one game, and after you beat one region, you start over with a new start or continue with your old ones.
I wish the would also come out with giants, like 5 evolution stages but once it is at its 4th stage, you can equip a certain item that will change the pokemon's form into a different type. Example: 5 generation fire blastoise? Do you know where i could make a game free

Either. Normally, people either do a battle sim or a walking sim, but if you decide you want to work a ton on it, you could make a huge Pokémon game. It would really take a LOOOOONG time, though. If you do a huge game, it'll be like you're a real programmer.

Yeah Pokemon Gold remake.
2nd gen was pure awesomeness.
Besides, with all the *cough*shitty*cough* pokemon on the 4th gen they have already covered everything that could be "legendarized", even God, what's next?
Aside from the 2nd gen pokemon being made with great imagination and creativity, I loved Gold because you got to go to Kanto too.
In the end, that game was just awesome.
