If you read what I wrote as a comment you probably wouldn't be treating it like some sort of wanna be anime music vid like are flooding youtube. This was part of a contest sponsored by mudvayne sony, etc which I participated in about 2-3 yrs ago. No the video wasn't that great, I had just started learning the software and was rushed in making the video.

Other people's videos have no relevance because it was a test of MY originality, not being able to copy someone else's vid

A lot of people don't realize what this looked like when it was given to us.

3-point lighting (to remove shadows)

all shot on green screen in like 7 different videos (one of each band member plus one master shot of the whole band plus 1 vid of fillers).

Our job was to take all the greenscreen footage and make a music video. So all that concert lighting etc wasn't included in the vid :P I took the audio wave form, keyed 3 or 4 separate 3d lights to the wave so that they flashed with the song:)

seriously, dreamt theater have the technique, but their songwriting sucks...their sound is also too clean, too poppy. they just play songs that are difficult so thay can show off. Mudvayne has feeling.

Well I'm sure that depends on people's point of view.. For example, I don't "LOVE" either of those two bands, but I do/have listened to them..

I prefer Killswitch Engage, or Metallica, or Linkin Park. Those bands are the ones that talk to the emotions deep inside. But as I said, that depends on the point of view and opinion (being mine).

For every person (and their preferences) it's diff. To person A Mudvayne sucks ass. To person B Mudvayne is God's gift to music..

sony/bmg posted about 9gigs of 'greenscreen footage' that they recorded...

basically it's them doing their thing against a green cloth... you use a program to cut it together, and replace the green w/ your own background..

it can be an involved process, I didn't even get to finish it - but I only worked on it for 19 hrs before I had to submit it.

it's used for a lot of FX in movies etc.. the new starwars trilogy was mostly done this way..
