@eversickest well a few weeks ago i got it to start working again. all i did was go to the setteings an not use the WEP key, I just clicked WLAN and Boom! I was signed in to PSfreakinN!

but if this doesnt work for you try to use the ethernet chord, tats what i used when i first had this problem.

I had the problem that stated connection timed out invalid ip address.. the fix was to unplug the router for a minute then plug everything back and then go to network settings again and try to connect...Hope this helps someone-it worked for me

i often have this problem when connecting via wireless. im no expert but i try numerous methods to reconnect including, attaching my ethernet cable to my ps3 and reconnecting, resetting internet modem, reseting to ps3 default setttings or doing a hard reset by holding down the on button while turning on the ps3 until it makes a second beep. alternatively i kick, scream and swear until it starts working again... these methods usually work for me!

There is 1 other way to fix it, it worked for me, go to youre internet thingy where you plug in the wire, there should be 4 slots, it failed to optain the ip addres, when the internet cable was plugged in the first 3 slots, i plugged it in the 4th slot, and it worked, i dont know, will it work for you guys, but it did for me!

Look, the best advice I can give is to totally RESET your router!! This is what I did, I started from scratch with my own router. I had to rename it, give it a new password and let my PS3 pick up the "new" router.

The key thing to this problem is ethernet cable. Ps3 has always had a problem searching ip adresses and wep and ect. Ps3 is stupid for picking up wifi. Promise you ethernet cable get one

Ok, well this isn't worse than the YLOD (it took four years for this to happen), which I just got with the same ps3 in this video. I am the creator of this video and I know how to help all of you!

First... Totally reset your own router, make a new name for it, give it a new WPA/WEP (I use WAP, not as easy to hack in to)

Second... Search for the router on your PS3, I am pretty sure I did automatic, and then enter your security key

Third.... Jump online and start playing some Uncharted 2! :D ha

restart your ps3 hold down power button for 4beeps the third and fourth beep are really fast after each other then hit restart your ps3 , also disconect your modem and wait to turn it back on at least 5 min solved my problem good luck
