haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa un grito antirepresivo¡¡
hahahahahaha. Why is coldplay being compared to the clash? different generations, different fanbases, two completely different sounds. I hope your not just comparing themi because their both English bands. Ones is a beloved punk band and the other a beloved pop band... Anyways, Great song
i gave up trying to classify music by genre, everyone has such a different opinion on what's punk and what's pop and whatnot? (throwing up my hands). I just recognize an anthem when i hear one..and to me, this is one..great song
This song reminds me of cover bands I was in years ago. Really always it could never be loud enough. Love that groove. I like it better with Gibson LesPauls.
live in union city, nj....1980. no doubt my brother was there. if he was, shame on him for not dragging me with him. if he wasn't well, than just plain shame on him
Wtf why should coldplay be compared to the Clash?????? There is a huge time gap between them not to mansion music style........However I love to listen to both of them in differnet situation O dont think there is a problem with that.....
Having Mikey Gallagher on the organ during the London Calling tour filled out the sound. I wished Mick Jones never bought that damned stereo chorus, no bite to his guitar when you listen to live Clash material between during the LC and Sandanista tours.
The Clash (in particular Joe Strummer), were socialist, not communist. As a socialist myself, I can tell you there is a BIG difference. The Sandanistas are a socialist party as well, not communist.
ohh, man.. i knew this was the fucking clash....mick jones has a great voice...i just did not know the name of the song.. i always thought it was , u didn't stand by me.. forgive me...great fucking song..
Mick Jones was a part of The Clash. Without Strummer, no Clash. Ever. Understand that, young one, or go back to your Fall Out Boy. You might understand that , Junior.
I think saying Joe Strummer is just noise, is probably the stupidest thing i've ever heard. "Mick Jones is the clash" Mick Jones said himself the way Joe Strummer wrote his lyrics "How could you not write a great tune to it". Okay Strummer isn't the greatest singer and Mick Jones is obviously an amazing talent but saying he "is The Clash" is way too far. Take either one of them out and it would never of worked, not just Mick Jones.
@ PartyBoy64 Communist sort of. I lived in Managua where the Sandanista's love that album even tho they don't like the music. Plus the albums catalog number is FSLN1. FSLN is the name of the Sandanista party. But Joe Strummer does criticizes Moscow and China in this album also, so i guess it would better to say that it is a pro Socialist pro leftist not Communist. Power to the people kinda thing.
They were about as communist as my cat, they had the balls to say what they did and didn't like; in a great, innovative, musical way. Hail to the greatest band ever!
mick jones- i remember well. the original 'rudie'. he was really something else man. everyone alwaise talking bout strummer. fuck that, thats just noise. Mick Jones WAS the clash! He was punk-freakin-rock come to life
I think it was March 8, 1980 at the Capital Theatre in Union City, New Jersey. Another guy called AdamRamone1234 has this entire concert up, but clip of Train in Vain is the best quality I've seen posted.
Wow they were so good live wish they were still together.

Actually named after a group of Nicaraguan revolutionaries that were fighting during the release.
The Clash didn't even know what they were fighting for haha. So I don't know if you can consider them communist for that reason
