I did this hike many times as a kid living in East Pasadena down near Victory Park. Very cool to have the San Gabriels pretty much in my back yard.

This road is going to re-open by summer, hopefully maybe sooner. It's being repaired by a contractor for Los Angeles County.

Nice. This brings back memories! I loved this hike. A good workout, and on a clear day, the views are really nice. Definitly worth the all uphill walk. I have come down/gone up to Henninger every way possible. It's a great overnight backpack. Thanks for the post.
