I first heard this amazing John Rutter music played by the Boston Pops, about 20 years. I don't recall the name of the boys choir that performed with them. As I was searching You Tube, I stumbled across this post. "THIS IS FABULOUS!" I also read the wikipedia article about the architecture and history of this grand and exquisite Papal Basilica of San Francesco, in Assisi, Italy. Thank you for posting this, and allowing us to share a part of this wonderful concert...several years later!
It seems like their following what they hear, not what they are being directed to. A bit behind the music, but really good. I'm just glad it was by Rutter, I love him
In 5/4 I know only the movement from the Pathetic Symphony, Paul Desmond's Take Five and this. There is also a Basque rythm and perhaps Mexican composer Moncayo's Huapango.
This is a very rare tempo indeed, but when used, it is incredible.

Sono contenta, perchè sembrano degli angeli che cantano! Devo dire che gli americani producono della musica " classica " che è nelle mie corde! John Rutter è americano, vero?

Hi brandon, the boys choir is "I Piccoli Musici" from my town, Casazza, a little village in Bergamo, Italy.
I don't remember the name of men choir, but I think is from Turin.
