in abs mode the skips actually effect the track just like using actual vinyl.

The best thing to do is to just install it and tweak it to work for you. I have friends that use Serato with Vista and have no problems.

What kind of laptop are you using? It looks like a PC, but on my Gateway there is way too much latency to scratch like that with Serato.

If it is a PC, are you using Vista or XP?
