  • I grew up on comics but the movies are running it into the ground especially the ones that fail MISERABLY (ie Punisher).

  • @BeginnningoftheEnd The first Punisher movie was OK, but that's all it was, OK, the sequels however, were just horrid. And don't get me started on Ghost Rider

  • I never read Ghost Rider much, if at all. The movie for me worked.

I didn't like Daredevil but the Director's Cut actually pumped the action. Go check it.

  • Ive only recently got into comic books properly and I mainly collect Batman novels so I was wondering are you a fan of Batman and if so what would you recommend for me to pick up?

  • TSlay you must not approve of the Scott/Emma relationship

  • @TerryBogard675 it's fine but a bit odd to be honest. Though In House of M it was STUPID AS FUCK!! I mean Peter gets Uncle Ben, Gwen and a Baby and Scott is still with Emma ?!?! come on now. Other than that it's been ok you had to have scott do something.

  • way to go tslay, its good to see people in the ywc showing that there is more to us than meets the eye.

  • im sorry about your mother man, i know what you went threw, my mom died when i was 17 and she was very close to me,

  • My most prized comic is the 1st Issue of X-Men, bought it at a flea market for 5 bucks and still can't believe I ever found it. Read it a bunch of times way back to see the orgins of the comic but have since sealed it up as a collectable

  • EC Comic from the 50s FTW

  • @ChildsActRetro This is true at least they are starting to reprint some of those.

  • Inferno was brilliant. Surprised you didnt mention Secret Wars.

  • @calvin8hobbs I didn't read Secret Wars until much later I think i was maybe 8 or 9 when that came out..but I do love it

  • Don't blame you for dropping X-Men when Grant Morrison picked it up because he sucks, but you should check out the last few years worth of all of the X-Men books (especially X-Force).

  • @Paisnaiter Yet his books sell like crazy. The thing is except for JLA has he ever left a book in better shape than when he took it over? Last time I read X-Force was when Milligan & Allred which while radically Different I actually that was good unlike what Morrison was doing.

  • Wow.

Truthslayer is a comic book geek.

    Who'd uh thunk it!

  • The Killing Joke is the best comic ever. Im dyslexia to pretty bad and i live ireland and they treated me like a dumbass the whole way through school so i didnt like to read for ages because the forced people to read aloud in irish high school. But the i found steve ditko madass and neveer stop reading after that. Hunter S Thompson is who got me reading books.

  • Dyslexic eh?, although mine not as severe that makes two of us, but anyway, How did the Comic book Industry almost went Out of Business for focusing more on the Die-Hard Comic Book Store fan ?

  • @LibreVisionNetwork They alienated the causal younger fans that read stuff from the news stands. When you start publishing comics that can't be put on news stands it hurts in a BIG way. On top of that they tried to make everything dark and more mature that works for some things but it's not always a good thing.

  • Awesome story. From a 19 year old's perspective it looks like to me comic books are dead. You do have Comic-Con which is a big event that gets coverage from TV stations like G4 but I don't remember the last time I have ever seen someone reading a comic but I guess it's something you do in your home and not in public. Do you think comics can generate new fans? I hate comparing it to wrestling but it's all I know how to do. I never knew comics have stories that continue through several comics

  • @sinz187 that has kind of intrigued me. As I always thought they start and end in one comic. I'm not much of a book reader but I would like to give comics a try. Do you recommend anything modern-like for someone wanting to try comics out? Even a brand would help.

  • @sinz187 Depends on what you like to read. There is so much out there now that its hard not to find something you might like. Trades are the best things to pick up for that. I would say Comics as far as single issues are going away I think Trades one day will be the way things are sold. Hell between Manga and comics every book store you go to has one Isle just full of that stuff.

  • @sinz187 I like what Jonathan Hickman is doing with Secret Warriors and I have high hopes for his S.H.I.E.L.D. book alto its to early to tell, "The Immortal Iron Fist" was a good book to me. Green Lantern books(Green Lantern, Green Lantern Corps, Sinestro War) leading up to Blackest Night are good, some slow spots but good.

  • @sinz187 oh god I totally forgot about marvels cosmic line.....some slow spots but with DnA (Dan Abnett, Andy Lanning) most if not all is good.... Annihilation, Annihilation: Conquest(not everyone liked this), (Deadly Genesis, The Rise and Fall of the Shi'ar Empire, Emperor Vulcan, Kingbreaker) lead to War of Kings, Realm of Kings and Thanos Imperative....

  • @madmanco17 No idea..The Boys is GREAT! Witchblade is Great for Different reasons and so is Irredeemable i would go with those three right now. The Art in Witchblade is so good though its hard to compare as the other two might have better stories though not by much.

  • @tenmais4real Nope never liked stuff like archie not even big on Liberty Medeows but I did like Bone..Only Manga I ever liked was Lonewolf And Cub
