  • love captain beefheart

  • i think he could sound like anyone truely amazing vocalist deserves more credit

  • this is the rawest, most primal, primitive, fucked up, foot stomping, chest beating shit i've had the pleasure to witness in a strong minute. long live the beef man

  • @spinnact listen to one string sams version please

  • who is the awful freakin drummer? its just sad.

  • the one and only drummer, John French AKA Drumbo was a fierce master, and can sound like 3 drummers... see him now on tour with the Magic Band as of 8-1-11

  • No disrespect intended ,but Beef shows how much hooter we smoked back then !!! I will always love this ..

  • I played it live at my local blues bar. /watch?v=TJ9qDyX6cME

  • @yanis3 You need to learn to play and sing together, in time. The two parts separate, were actually really good, they just weren't together. You should probably look into getting a guitar strap too.

  • @MrThedalaillamaknows Thanks for listening! The guitar was borrowed by a very "heft" man, and so the strap was low. It was a very uncomfortable experience, and I guess the strap wasnt even visible!. It is a difficult song for me and in the months since ive been working on it, anyways here is another attempt recorded while I was seated. watch?v=7NGD5ihjqko.

  • dude was born, held by his hair, and dipped in bleach.

  • Captain Beefheart -True American genius ORIGINAL.

    Low YO-YO

  • Long live the Mirror Man

  • The drummers are sensational.

  • @dlphcoracl LOL. I may be mistaken, but I believe that there is only drummer on this track. The rest of the band sounds like the mid-60's Magic Band, the one filmed on the beach for French TV (also on YouTube) or perhaps the one on the "Mirror Man" sessions, in which case the drummer would be the amazing John "Drumbo" French, who can play like a whole line of drummers. There are people who play drums, and then there is Drumbo. One of a kind!

  • R.I.P. CAP, R.I.P. FRANK Long live your legend! You are the mothers of invention!

  • Longer than a Mormon's liver it may be. Shorter than a Jehovah's Witness sermon it certainly is... but I know which I'd prefer to listen to. Roll on in heaven Captain

  • Whoa! I too never heard this before.

    R.I.P. good Captain...

  • Thought I'd heard all Don's stuff but this was a new one for me - thank you

  • Mormon Liver... PMSL!!!

  • Do you all know that the Captain passed on recently!!!

  • @thejackiebae Sure 'Nuff 'n Yes I Do!!

  • this is the song he ripped off for Sure nuff yes i do.

  • @Stube437 "ripped off" ? You know a lot don't you kid.

  • @gezunder eh? you trying to say it's not the same music as Sure nuff? I

  • @Stube437 I dispute the use of the term "ripped off" in this genre. If you want to get antsy, there isn't an original song in the world.

  • @gezunder So when was the last original song written?

  • where does this recording come from? its magnificent!

  • rest in peace man

  • @heybabyitsasecret Hail the Beef !

  • Fuckin' A

  • R.I.P. to a guitar master. You WILL be missed.

  • @sheilapatrick1

I noticed that the lyrics are not at all close yesterday. But they used a very similar instrumental section for SNNYID.

  • The Dancing Mormons?

  • it's a muddy waters tune based on the robert johnson tune "if i had possession over judgement day" captain beefheart's version is very very close to muddy's.

  • I love the Captain

  • LOL...got anything against mullets?

  • their drummer is either- a. Quite unique-

or b. Two drummers This is an excellent performance- no other band sounded this way- despite the vocals are too low in the mix, it's still hot

  • @keltyk 2 drummers man
