Hernandez. You're a dumbass. The Gamecock is a part of the state of South Carolina's history, along with the rest of the world. "Cock" fighting was a big sport before it was illagalized in 1976. Also one of the states most famous military figures, Thomas Sumter was called "the Gamecock" because they thought he "fought like a scrappy gamecock".

We're the only NCAA Division I team with this mascot so atleast we're original and do not copy other teams, and use something from our states history.
