  • No one has the balls to make games like this now :( its not about graphics but gameplay! and replayabilty, when will they learn :(

  • oh my! nostalgia, everyone who bought ps1 when released knows this game.. DEMO ONE!!!!....fucking demo one. lol takes me back.

  • @misterneckbreaker88 there were several versions of demo one and the version including Kula World came with autumn '98 Playstation consoles. I wouldn't say that was the version people remember the most. I got the demo one with Abe's Oddysee, Rage Racer, Lifeforce Tenka etc. with my system. And I keep hearing a lot more praises about that demo one version than the one you got.

  • I found someone has made a flash version of this called Frenzirynth. Worth a look

  • On the Demo 1 disc that came bundled with the console at one point, the ball was completely red in the bonus level

  • I have a question, do you know on which demo cd was that older kula demo called "Kula Quest", the earlier version of the game? it had different music.

I used to play this demo in January 1998 a lot, but i can't remember which demo cd it was.

    I appreciate every hint.

  • @BringBackMy9Os what I've understood Kula Quest is just the japanese version of the game. There are minor differences with few of the levels, musics and sound effects but other than that nothing is changed. I don't know if there's a demo specifically from Kula Quest version of the game but I'm pretty sure Official UK Playstation Magazine has never released it. If there is any kind of demo in existence it has to be some other magazine...

I can't help you more than that. Sorry. :-(

  • @PS1DemoMuseum

Thanks ;) , so now i can say it wasnt in the playstation magazine and thus narrow down my research.

But i know it was a PAL demo, working on my german ps1. Please upload, if you should get the chance to find it one day ;)

  • @BringBackMy9Os oh, you're german. That changes everything.

German had it's own catalog of demo discs (some games needed censoring because of blood and violence etc.) and after doing some research I found out that Kula Quest was on Das Offizielle PlayStation Magazin Demo Disc number 13. I don't know why they decided to go with the Kula Quest version of the game since there's no of violence or blood in the original Kula World version anyway. But you were right, Kula Quest PAL version exists.

  • @PS1DemoMuseum

Wow thanks a lot for the info! Impressive 90s research done!

I'll watch out for that disc number 13 then!

Indeed the German regulations of that time concerning violence and blood colour etc. were kind of funny :D.

I remember in private stores they often offered different versions of some games, it was always a question whether you'd like to buy the green-blood version of the game (cheaper price) or some "special" red-blood version from UK or US. :))
