hahaha i agree with the coments below, your rants are really entertaining...
You can't tell someone how to call the holidays... i say happy hanukka and if you say merry chistmas you wont offend me. u can believe in whatever you want and people need to stop being so sensitive and get over it
i agree that this is crap!!! this totally blows my mind. i mean how are you gonna tell somebody they can't say "merry christmas" that's what the whole day is about- the birth of christ! ugh people these days and their stupid statements. i'm american and i think it's bull how they're trying to change crap
Americans say "Merry Christmas," actually; "Happy Holidays" is definitely the more accepted phrase used in a commercial setting. I was completely under the impression that British people said "Happy Christmas," but watching Harry Potter doesn't make me an expert on British customs.
Anyway, I think that in cases like these being politically correct isn't a big deal. I'm not religious and call it Christmas and none of my friends of different religions give a shit. So I agree with you, as usual.
The other thing I want to mention is about your remark that Christmas is a Christian holiday. This is only half true. The actual celebration of Christmas existed before Christianity. It was originally a Pagen holiday in Rome that at times, got a bit violent
(typing on a mobile device, sorry) from people that the following year those stores reversed their position and went back to saying Merry Christmas. So on a "commercial" level, this sort of thing isn't far fetched. However, the idea that a government would ban a phrase period, in all walks of life, is pretty absurd. Why? You'd hear quite a backlash about it on your news and well, everywhere. Haha
@MattEureka I am fine with it being in stores and stuff, in some ways I think that would be better because there are different holidays happening at that time, ie. Hannukah, Thanksgiving, Kwanza etc. But it's just that people genuinely believe that they will no longer be allowed to say Merry Christmas. It's so stupid and makes me doubt their intelligence! lol! :D :D
Thanks for the comment, definitely something to think about.

Back again, been a bit busy but your video title caught my attention. Two things I want to add: It's not all that stupid. I have no idea what Britain's situation is, but in America, something similar happened to this. Certain major store chains told their employees to not say Merry Christmas anymore. It caused quite an outrage from people.
You're reaction is exactly what they were after...but I agree with you completely. It's kind of like those people who want to change the fairytale: "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" into 'Snow white and the seven vertically-challenged people' because the word 'dwarf' is politically incorrect (no joke, this was on 60 Minutes which is a legitimate news program - at least in Australia)
But it's not going to happen because no one really gives a crap. I mean, can you ima
(continuation of my earlier comment since it cut off)
I mean, can you imagine children reading that? Anyway, I've gone off topic.
But yeah, I'm pretty sure the British government have better things to do with their time.
