when you record a demo, you can have the playback output into single frames into a folder. So even though you may have junk FPS, each frame is rendered one a time so video playback makes it look like you were running it at good fps with all the bells and whistles enabled. when in fact he could be playing with everything disabled.

Well maybe he could have done it, but have 1 hp left or something. It's just not practical.

I've done triple-sticky demoman jumps and having 5 hp when you land is pretty worthless.
