  • Clutch play... ever heard of clutch? If not THIS is what clutch is all about.

  • probably my second favorite hawk play right behind "the catch"

  • @dodgesucksballs Chuck Long's bootleg or the field goal to win the game against Michigan when it was #1 vs. #2 don't get me wrong, this is a sweet sweet play....

  • @briank383 I was not alive when Chuck Long played for U of I:)

  • @dodgesucksballs You missed some good teams back then in the 80's. I was just a kid then, didn't like watching or going to football games, we had season tickets but we always sold mine more often than not. I vividly remember Long's bootleg though, even watching it on TV was freaking awesome.

  • @32 faces of shame...

  • John Barleycorn Chicago. After the catch I just remeber getting hit by Beer and pieces of Roast Beef Sandwich.

  • I was at this game

  • Still hurts.

  • This was not a game, it was a fight. Plain and simply, a fight.

  • man.. I lost it when they threw the completion. I was so pumped that the Hawks won that game!

  • Right on. Had Dolph on the radio along with the TV. That last drive was intense. 3 incompletions had me worried. Would this be how our dream season would end. Radio was ahead of the TV so when I heard Eddie yell "Touchdown, Touchdown" I at first couldn't believe it. Then I saw the play on TV and I realized we had won. Wow. That radio call still gives me chills. Go Hawks. We'll be back this year.

  • a pretty cool touchdown :D

  • @TheJimster222 and @bbbeaverboys, oh well we won the Insight Bowl so thats all that matters, Gunna miss all the seniors! Hawkeyes for the win!

  • What a game! And not just that play. The whole game was amazing. We were on that goal line, about 2/3 of the way up the lower bowl. Maybe we'll get our turn this year :-) Go Green!

  • @deefeste I knew in that game that MSU was going to be a team to beat in the Big 10 in the years ahead, and it has shown. That Iowa team was one for the ages, and still proud to bleed black and gold. :)

  • @eroc8894 You're right, that was a tremendous season for the Hawks. Tremendous. And I still have that ticket stubb on the wall of my office. One of my Top Ten games of all times. Top Three in Spartan stadium. Of course, I would have liked a different outcome ;-)

  • Aah, Gary Dolphin! I remember standing, fingers crossed, right up next to the radio (no Big Ten Network for me) and jumping up and down...what a finish!
