I'm a complete beginner, so this stuff throws me off: On intro you said DD on G, then Gsus2 UDUD. You don't have your 1st finger on A when you show it. (no biggie?) BUT, when you're saying "so the intro" you're totally not doing DD g, UDUD Gsus2.. you seem to have strummed more than DD on G (1:06).

Is this just a sound time delay, or do I need to learn to improvise more and the DD g UDUD Gsus2 doesn't matter 100%?

I am curious about an alternative to the slide, however. Looking at Scotty from American Idol, and even Thompson Square I never see the slide so it's probably a little easier for a beginner if I knew an alternative for the last part of the intro. Thank you!

Great song btw but I'm having some trouble getting that forth part we play when you have just your middle finger on the eighth fret. It just doesn't sound right to me. Is there anything I may be doing wrong that could cause this?

you are a great teacher! i'm a beginner and was extremely discouraged when i learned C, D, E, G, A... along with other chords like Dsus4, Cadd9, and Em and STILL couldn't play a song... i finally learned wonderwall but learning other songs has been tough... and after watching this, i almost got it down after just 20 min! thanks so much!

For those without a capo, you can tune up a half step for this. For those who can tune by string, tune your low E so that the 4th fret matches the A string, then tune the rest of the strings as normal. That'll result in the guitar being a half tone higher, as if u had a capo on fret 1. BTW, love the instructionals from Mahalo. U guys rock, thanks for posting your stuff!
