  • music has notting to do with religion, its an exprecion from wat you feeling.

  • Locely musical performance!

  • Saw the top comment when he started and thought it was a joke, but by the end the crowd are blatantly agitated. Too right this guy has balls. Forget religious fundamentalism to deny the people of Iran one of the catchiest tunes in history is a tyranny in of itself. People of the Book and all that.

  • If I could get to their jagular vein, I WILL NOT THINK TWICE! RACISTS, MANIPULATORSSSSSSSSSSSS, opoertunistics!, USLES BEING, BEASTSSSSSSSSS!!

  • @kazuyaheihachi1 Welcome To Iran :-D

  • SHALOM FROM IRAN :)

  • Cool!!

  • Remembering great tsimbl player Walter Zev Feldman. Awesome.

  • What is not wrong with way you set up a Country ? Why don't you sort it once and for all if your Country is Peace loving ? There is absolutely nothing wrong with JEWS but like the Muslims every thing Wrong with both religion since Islam is a lot like Juadism. There are plenty people in Israel want peave Now but that is not beneficial to USA and even good few 'Muslim' regimes. If you ask me People like Hamas and Ahmadinejad are being created because of Israel .Respect Thanks

  • bravo pour ce musicien un vrai enchantement pour ce chant israelien.joué en iran.

  • Funny enough I was not anti Jew or so much anti Israel ! I meant they could have done a better job if they didn't follow the Apartheid policiies. And I don't listen to no Muslim either but Israel has disregarded more UN resolution than Antarinejad had hot cakes!! So to me Iran and Israel are just as good or bad as each other and hopefully the score will be settled ,one way or the other, soon we hope because the World is sick of Jews and Muslims behaviour altogether.

  • @jezadeh1 What's wrong with the Jews desiring to be their own soveriegn nation?

Why does the world and the UN feel they have the right to get involved in the internal affairs of a country. I can imagine what the US would say if we were told by the UN to give half of our country to Mexico. Well, maybe that's not a good example with obama being president. Israel has been antagonized plenty by their muslim neighbors lobbing bombs and missles and sending suicide bombers into their cities.

  • @jezadeh1

We aint on the same line...

You say Iran and israel is as good as bad as eachother.

Problem is Iran is building nuclaire weapons . Israel aint doing that stuff.

Iran wanna bomb israel and kill all the jews. Israel wont do that stuff.

Israel aint planning to kill muslims orso they only are defending.

Shit that we aint hearing on the radio or news.. That doesnt mean that israel is attacking ??

  • Bravo!! Kol HaKavod!!

  • Such a shame that Jews ended up in a facsist country like Israel, same as facsist Regim in Iran. Will we have peace in the Middleast ? No , Americans too greedy to let that to happen.

  • @jezadeh1

Too bad Israel can't be more like Iran and the 22 Arab states where women are stoned to death for being seen with a man who is not their relative, shot to death (for protesting) rigged elections-where women can't drive (as in Saudi Arabia) and ALL people live under ruthless dictatorships. What a shame that a million and more non-Jewish Arabs foolishly CHOOSE to live in Israel for the silly reason that they have complete rights and freedom in the only democracy in the Middle East.

  • @jezadeh1

Yeah...I guess Americans support Israel because of all that oil Israel has. Oh wait---Israel doesn't have any oil ...hmmmm. It's those wonderful Arab states that are oil-rich while they keep their own people in poverty and ignorance and stir up hatred against a tiny tiny oil-less once barren country that is simply trying to exist and has made amazing contributions to the world in the fields of science, medicine and technology (amongst other things)>

  • @madhavi108

U make one big mistake.. Israel doesnt has any oil....

America support israel because of the tolerant and because most of the arabic countries are for jihad

  • @jezadeh1 What a shame that you believe all that Islamic propaganda.

  • Yasoo

  • Ah, Music the international language...

If only we could have musicians instead of munitions, the world would truly be a better place.

  • WOW! great!

  • loved it, it really moved me. Better than any other version of hava nagila, although he mixed many other songs. Is he playing for Jewish tourists?

  • @perachg

Christians, Muslims, and Jews have lived together in Iran for centuries. Queen Esther is buried there. Abraham was more than likely born there, his brother was born in Ur.

One of the first Christian churches ever built was in Iran. Legend has it that it was built by one of the Wise man who met the Christ child.. The wise men were probably Zorastrians .

  • Super

    No any words

  • A laak dat

  • I dunno...a bit of a stretch. I would have not have recognized it if not for the title.

  • bravo!

  • Beautiful performance

  • 5 START

  • I have a feeling he just doesn't know what this music is. People in Iran play musics from all nationalities without really knowing thier origins

  • @thewoodave You definitely do not know what this music is. Rejoice, let's rejoice.

Let's sing and be happy. Wake up, my brothers, with a happy heart. Hava Nagilah means let's rejoice in Yiddish. The rest you better learn for yourself.

  • Beautifully done!! But regarding Iranians - aren't *most* people in Iran lovers of freedom, democracy & diversity? I was of the understanding here in the United States that the Iranian GOVERNMENT & clerics were the ones persecuting the Jews - and NOT the people? Can anyone help us understand this?

I wish the Iranian government would dissolve into one run by people truly elected by the people who are not under coercion or fear.

  • wonderfull, great musician..

  • Instrument appears to be a type of hammered dulcimer - probably a tzimbal (cymbalon). Not surprised to hear Jewish melody in Iran. Iran has 2nd largest Jewish population in Middle East (after Israel).

  • AMAZING MUSICIAN

love him.... such an amazing sound.. who can tell me the name of this mazing instrument? some of it's history maybe?

  • best version i heared of this song

  • I have to say this is quite nicely played

  • Absolutely brilliant performance, how does he do that ? I mean it's even more than music, ihe is playing the jewish soul.

  • I am not interesting about nationals...I just hear a great musical sound here.

  • Great music, interesting video....Bless this fellow's heart!

  • Umm looks like the north, there's no such a pressure from the dictator in the north of Iran, there are many mountains and few ski resorts out there, it's kinda freedom in there, unlike the big cities...

  • GOD BLESS HIM HE HAS GUTS!

  • kind of creepy...

  • In God we trust.

  • I am sure he wasn't arrested because of this. :-) The condition of Persian Jews are different than the Iranian views about Israel. Just check the "Persian Jews" on wikipaedia. They also have one reserved seat in the Iranian parliament as an official religious minority!!!

  • @sittimfa yeah but our lot is pretty shitty in Iran. 90% of us live in the US or Israel, most of the people that stayed are people that are either too old to leave or too poor to afford it. The one seat in parliment is a novelty. I respect the delegate and he's a great man and fights for his people, but the rest of the council doesnt care what he says, its one against over 200. Then again that's the Jewish fate isnt it.?

Jews cant get good jobs or into good schools in Iran. It's not that tolera.

  • is this a jewish iranian or just a regular iranian... I wonder if he knows what he was playing

  • yess, there is a significant jewish population living well in iran.

besides, it isn't a jewish-religious piece of music; it is jewish-cultural, so it wouldn't be a violation of any islamic code/policy anyway.

  • WOW!!! i mean.WOW!!! how many years would it take to master an instrument like that?

  • @kakevause s"

Its hard as hell, you have to have godly dexterity.

  • Wonderful job..

  • Amazing Player, i hope he was not arrested by the religious police for playing jewish stuff =/.

  • @77hawk77 wtf????? what have u thought about iran???go and search a little about my country then come and say your bullshits on youtube!!!!!!

  • @77hawk77 I agree :) I don't think it's illegal, though.

  • @77hawk77 Nope. Surprisingly, Jews and Christians have some respect from the Iranian regime. Better not be openly Baha'i or homosexual though...

  • What is the name of the instrument?

  • kanun

  • Actually, no, it's the Santur. The Kanun is played with the fingers.

  • Essentially the same instrument as a hammered dulcimer, if I'm not mistaken?

  • Essentially, yes, though I'd say the different materials used and different conventions would give each a distinctly different sound.

  • l'esprit juif, l'âme juive en action !!!!

  • HAVA NAGILA mullaz............................

  • harika çok güzel bir çalışma tebrik ederim.

  • I Like It!!!

  • very beautiful.....I love it!!!

  • Wow, He is fantastic. Thank you.

  • the sound is very beautiful

  • There are Iranian jews, so he may be one and thats why he knows the song. Very lovely!! The traditional persian sound and the version of hava nagila. bravo!

  • was he executed?

  • NAH, I doubt it.

Just because he play Hava Nagila or a Jew in an Arab country, doesn't mean the local government punish him like the Nazi.

  • @AlexSDU Iran's not an Arab country. And historically Persian Jews have been treated much better than the ones from Arab lands

  • You got point there. My mistake.

If Iran is not an Arab country, then which country category does it belong to? South Asia?

  • Central Asia/MIddle East It's kinda in the middle of both, but even Turkey's not an Arab country and neither is Armenia, or Afghanistan etc.

I dont blame you, even some middle eastern people think we're an Arab country for some reason.

  • If we go by the culture and not the geography, it's probably best described as Persian. ;)

  • @iwantcoolname wat r u talkin bout? my grandpa was jewish and he was rich.. but he lived/lives a very good life in Iran.. theres no problem for jews.. its just that the iranian regime, doesnt like the israeli regime..

  • @IloveVitoria2009 Your grandpa probably lived there during the Shah.

  • @TeachESL my grandpa traveled to israel during shah time n came bak. n hes still there in Iran and is living a normal life. stop watching fox news dude

  • Great. That is how life should be: no hate, just music...

  • wonderful!

  • It also reminds me of a Dulcimer...Awesome sound!

Thank so much for posting this!

I wonder if everybody realized where the song originated from! LOL

  • It is a hammer dulcimer

  • It is the Hebrew song "Hava Nagila" it means "come let us dance come let us celebrate"

  • This guy has some serious skill.

  • Good Job.

  • vielen Dank,toll!

  • Lok'tar for the Horde...

  • That is a beautiful instrument I must admit I was afraid of watching this video with all the people who want to rant hatred about jews and the like.

This was a pleasent suprise......I wish peace and a better tomorrow for Israel and Iran in 2009.

  • What a magnificent instrument. Allow me to ask its name, please!

The best vibes for Iran. May peaceful and happier days come in 2009! Shalom!

  • Best vibes for you too. This instrument is a santour. Khoda negahdar!

  • Thank you! :)
