  • There's no constitutional authority for the government to be involved in healthcare. Honestly, do you really believe the government can improve and administer healthcare for all? The government can give you nothing unless it takes it from you first. We are fast approaching total government. We are losing our freedom, our independence and our self reliance. Do we want womb to tomb government involved in the whole of our lives? Wake up, America! All our freedoms are being frittered away.

  • The GENERAL WELFARE CLAUSE pertains to the over all well being of the nation; not to funding every program and service under the Sun imaginable and the welfare state that has evolved. We never had all this social legislation until the 1930s. The Founders didn't empower congress to fund certain things only to have this phrase undo it all. Congress' powers are few and well defined. Any power not enumerated or elaborated is reserved to the people or to the states.

  • Read the ninth ammendment again there's there is potentially LOTS that is not in there that could be if we need it. Kind of like the Bible as that clause about not everything is written that could have been written.(about Jesus)

  • The movie Sicko really opened my eyes. I dont understand why people can go to Cuba and get taken care of better than they can in the United States. Why is our system so corrupt?

  • We should support universal health care.

Many hardworking Americans can't afford health coverage.

The United States health care system has been turned into an industry just for profit. The big insurance companies could care less if you die, they just want your money.

Many people nowadays pursue a health care profession just because of the pay. Nobody seems to have the passion for the job anymore and health care is about caring for peoples health not worrying about if you're going to get paid.

  • thankYou for this thoughtful response.

  • Barak Obama, is a man of the Corporations--maintaining the establishment with a capital E.--

    we need more Unlike him.

95% of our goverment is just like him--

    AGAINST THE PEOPLE.

No health plan, so we have to "accept" slightly lower costs spread out over the next TEN years. Healthcare workers expect slave wages, those lower costs will be at their expense.

All ya 18-20,000 who will die this year anyway, well maybe you'll reincarnate in a HUMANE country instead of parasitic USA.

  • John Conyers is a man of the people--we need more like him!
