I guess I have tonic and dystonic. I constantly squeeze my shoulder and arm muscles very lightly, and I always feel the need to stretch my legs and my groin when I'm walking. What would throwing your arm out to stretch it be? Clonic or dystonic?
ah , i get it now, i get tonic tics in my legs and dystonic i with my back, kind what you said you where doing at the pool, mine are a litle more subtle tho.
oh my god i'd never heard of dystonic tics before... thanks so much for this video -- when i get frustrated or confused or something i do that, like where i arch my back, or pull my head/shoulders/arms back semi-automatically... people usually think i'm stretching but it's different... anyways, thanks so much for this vid it was very interesting and informative :)
Thank you for putting this on YouTube. Sometimes people need to see this and understand this disorder. I have Myoclonic dystonia. I joke around a lot about my conduction and this helps me deal.. Blessing to you from Anne
This is interesting, thanks for sharing that. Tonic...yeah, ppl wouldn't notice. I got all of it and it's not that simple to differentiate or understand where one is connected to the other. But as you put it here in this vid quite simply, easy to understand.
oh thankyou I like that your video shows the actual process of what going on, you need to show me a simple partial seizure reanact that if you havent I would be very interesd.
@Tictionary I like that you take requests in regard to videos. I with that I had a video camera right now. My little poetry videos about Tourettes get more views than my poetry, andI think that is based on need as much, or more, than want. You fill needs and I hope that I can get my camera working or a new one, so that I can do a video response encouraging people to visit your channel.
Brilliant vid, thanks! I've been noticing very subtle tics over the past year or so but they've been getting worse over the past month or so - to the point of being noticeably annoying, at least to me. I can still control them enough to get my tics out in the lift or round an empty corridor at work, but I fear it's something that's progressing. I've read a lot of medical literature and am familiar with it all, but a picture is worth a thousand words!
Thanks! We are working on getting my daughter diagnosed with TS - she does all of these and now I have the words to tell the doctor what she is doing!
The thing is though, they're very rarely categorised in this way - generally they're just simple motor, complex motor, simple vocal and complex vocal tics.
Your GP will probably not know about clonic, tonic and dystonic tics, but the specialist you get referred to might.
Anyway, good luck with the diagnosis and if you have any questions, please ask :)

A simple partial seizure? It's not really related to Tourette but I might do one when I've uploaded the other requests :)
