  • Heyyy!!! Hombre, Me Encantaria Aprender El Estilo De Vivian Q Recomendacion Me Das, La Verdad, Me Serviria De Muchísimo!!! Gracias!!!

  • when viv was in def leppard i didnt really like it because they were too poppish and i really dont like pop style music. but viv during the 80s with dio. man he was badass, especially on the holy diver album

  • @codyjt5150 I agree, I think the Holy Diver era for Viv was by far showing us his true talents as a top guitarist, for me his talents are cramped in Leppard, fair play to him I guess, he had an oppotunity to secure his future financially and he took it.

  • @codyjt5150 Truer words were never spoken! With Dio, a total badass. With Def Lep, just another money hungry pop star. Listen to the solo from the song "Invisible" and you'll understand. The speed and accuracy is phenom. Man, I miss those days!

  • fuckin Aces

  • You nailed it man. Very "rainbowinthedarkish".

  • you really seemed to emulate his style, but can i make a suggestion? dont be offended please...your really good, but u didnt seem to use his technique where he puts his left hand behind his right, and does that awsome pull off thing. other than that, your really amazing, and it was very like viv

  • Good stuff.

I still think Viv had one of the best guitar tones of the era.

I think alot of it is down to his technique.

  • what are you using to get that sound?

  • i hear some rainbow in the dark nice :) Matt

  • Good rippin'. 5 By 5

  • smokin'

  • Wow, that was sick! It really does sound like Viv's playing style! Sorry for the noobish question, but exactly was Viv's style of playing? I mean I can tell if I hear it, but I don't know all the techinal terms like, what scales and patterns he used, etc.

  • funny, when I first did this I tried to get an opinion from the man himself, but alas he never replied :(

I think a lot came down to the era to be honest, very trebly guitar, lots of pinched harmonics with wild vibrato, in the main I`d think that the licks where pentatonic licks with harmonic minor scales etc used, all pretty classic stuff for 80`s metal/rock :) glad you liked it, thanks :)

  • True, his use of pentatonic/minor scales and most of all the tone of his setup.Ill take any of the classic tones from that era before any new tones now days...every1 sounds the same now days,The classic stuff i can normally tell who is playing just by there tone....and nice playing there also.

  • Great, really sounds like Viv!!
