The synth hooks are SOOOOO ahead of their time and PERFECT, we have gone backwards in music. Look what was happening in 1972 and now we have CRAP and more CRAP!
sorry, did mick and fiesty......1967!!!!!!........whottheforksthatallabout... marry each other or are they just Two Cunts, sorry, sorry..........apparently........they married themselves...............no no.they could'nt have done.............one's still a twat......Hugs and kisses..xx
This is the first record I ever bought. It was the first UK number one hit to use a synthesiser. Georgio Moroder wrote and recorded in Italian originally and it was called, "Tu Sei Mio Padre".
The bass player later went on to run a pub in Maidstone during the early 1980's. He told me that his father had lent the band the money to buy their instruments.
This song is very ground-breaking cos it features the World's first synthesizer, pioneered by Georgio Moroder who also produced Donna Summer's I Feel Love and Electric Dreams with Phil Oakey.
@Feisty1967 WTF ...the synth was used well before this piece of shit ("son of my father??? who elses son would he be???) .i've read it was first used on a Monkees song .."Daily nightly". circa .1967 and had probably been used well before that in electronic music,,,in fact primitive synth like instruments were used in the 1920's,,
its only 1.17 in and, I think I'm in love with that blonde girl ?? ...........She looks like lots of fun!!............ where were you when I was a spotty 17 year old in 1972...ha ha Crackin posting this.............Love to all xx
Tenerifelynn, please listen the song "Double Je" by Christophe Willem. It's in french, but you'll notice some singers are able to make good music, even nowadays. I'm sur you will enjoy listening this nice song.
One of the better mimed songs on TOTP - drummer is as limp as a limp thing can be in this video.

Try Telstar by the tornados in 1962 if you want the earliest example of a synthesizer.......
