I see a few comments on the different projectors. Keep in mind there are HID projectors and halogen projectors which are completely different. It is worth spending a little bit of extra money to do it right. Not only doing it wrong affects the oncoming drivers, but your light output that you see really sucks
i want some hids on my eclipse...should i put them on the stock headlights or should i get projectors headlights? but do the projector headlights i saw on ebay the had some bulbs but i want 8k hids not regular bulbs can someone answer this thanks.
@jenuelpr If you put them in the stock headlights you are stupid and will blind other drivers. The headlights that come with the projectors are probably NOT hid's. That is, unless they come with a ballast. Do you know if they have one?
@jenuelpr I bought some halo projector headlights for my truck and the HID's don't fit in it, the bulb is too big. I've read about this stuff on yahoo and from what i understand, you can't use an HID kit with most projector headlights.
@Sundropfan18 It depends on the HID lights you buy. Some will be too big, but typically there's a style that the projectors were designed to use. For example, H1 bulbs and H7 bulbs.
@XxCMillz614xX basically, yes LOL. if you're willing to buy projectors, be willing to buy HID's too. otherwise (not entirely sure) but i'm positive that you won't see a performance change from your stock housings if you use the same halogen bulbs. buy HID's with your projectors :)
I've got HIDs installed in my car but it does not have projector lens.If I did a 'retrofit' and placed projector lens in, would it make the HID's even brighter or would it simply get rid of the glare.
Im interested because im buying a skyline in a few months hopefully and i want Aftermarket HID lights but I want them installed properly in the lens.
@StealthLikeTiger Whatever you do, don't put the HID's in the stock housings-that blinds oncoming traffic and can prove very dangerous. I'm not 100% sure, but I believe the projector lens makes it so you can see further than HID's in stock housings. If you have depos, they work better than projectors. Also the intensity of the HID matters as well. Ideally, you'd want 4300k's. The higher the number, the less you can see in front of you.
@Jabbawocky007 Yeah i've got the 6000k set in my low beams but i dont have a projector lens so it is causing glare. I dont think its as bad as your clip though, because i havent had anyone flash me. I do know however it annoys ppl when im following someone (as my friend told me, lol).
We have a lot of arogant drivers around my area that don't dim their lights when coming overhills and often wait until they are close to you before dimming. They can suffer a bit imo, ;)
