  • I'm so happy that this series is here! I've been wanting to try out Japanese cooking and i didn't have any good cookbooks. This is helpful! Thank you! Now I actually have an excuse to go to the Japanese grocery store down the street from my house for something other than snack! ^^ Yay!

  • Great!

  • Your lucky you live near a Japanese store. I live in a small town in the UK. There isnt even a chinese supermarket within 50 miles. ~_~

I want to make Pickled Daikon, Teriyaki Tofu and so much more. But I havent a clue how to make them. Let alone get the ingredients. SO count yourself lucky ^_^ *Envious glare of doom*

  • I live in California. It's the single most diverse State in the US. I can't cook American style, SO if there weren't an Asian grocer nearby, I wouldn't ever cook.

I actually choose where I live based on the nearness of an Asian grocer. Tatoeba... I intend to move to Beaverton, OR because of the Japanese program at the Community College near there, they have the largest Japanese grocer in the entire State, & they are sister city to Gotemba, Japan! Heh. Is that weird?

  • Nice fliping, I cant do it that good with pancakes with out makeing a mess

  • See above

  • could someone list out the ingredients? i could not understand the stuff after dashi and milk...

  • Looks delicious, can't wait to try this.

  • What are the little packages of stuff she uses to sprinkle stuff on?

  • I'm not sure which packets you are talking about but I'll tell you them. The first one I think she uses is tenkasu (tempura batter drippings). Then aonori (dried seaweed powder). Finally she uses a small individual serving packet of katsuoboshi (dried smoked bonito shavings). Bonito is also known as Skipjack. There's no substitute for this one. Buy some online.

  • Thanks for the response, and I was wondering about all of them XD. Going to make this for the family tommorrow, I had it before but never made it my self. So thanks to the both of you for these videos.

  • Good luck. Let us know how it turns out. Ganbatte!

  • Well, I found a japanese grocery store! Found the aonori and Katsuobushi but forgot about the tenkasu.

  • You don't really need it.

  • You are all very welcome. I hope you enjoy this for many years to come. :-)
