The pistols were a breath of fresh air in 1976 UK, we had all that disco shit and novelty songs, prog,glam and hard rock had passed. The pistols though had a limited sell by date, 3/4 years as it turned out. They had limited talent and material but made their mark during 1976 and 1977, plus dubious other stuff during 78/79. I love that last concert where Lydon states something along the lines of "Have you ever been conned?". Wonderful exit.

That show was so intense and raw and those guys smelled bad, too....all puke and guts...I ws right in the front for that....the guy next to me was knocked out by a guard......I was in college and I saw all the punk acts which came through SF in those days....We used to go to the Mabuhay Gardens...did you hear of that place?

The security was beating down on the crowd who was spiting back and throwing on the band. The guard rail broke and fists were flying.
