  • thanks so much a*****

  • THANKS WORKED GREAT .........

  • does it make your pc slower and can i use an exsternal drive as a partision?

  • no it doesn't make the pc slower as you can only run 1 os at a time and yes you can use an external drive

  • No wont let u install it on a external one.

  • what happens if your computer ships with vista?

    i want to boot

    Windows 7

    ubuntu

    Windows Vista Home Premium

    Windows Vista Home Basic

    Windows XP

that would make my pc worth a lot more money.

  • wow thats a lot of ram

  • RAM? you mean HDD space taken up by operating systems? dual booting dont mean your using all at once.... at startup you choose what one you wana use.

  • not really, coz A) windows 7 and ubuntu is free, and B) having lots of operating systems doesnt make your computer worth more, it'll probally it worth less coz your gonna either waste a lot of HDD space or waste a lot of money buying the OS's (or hacking whatever) and buying mutiple HDD's if you do. just stick to the basics, XP, Vista, 7 (if you want) Linux and Mac, that would be a better bet

  • lol your dumbass, windows 7 RC 1 was free, you fucking idiot

  • microsoft told everyone.

    fail.

i got 20 product keys that came straight from the microsoft website to prove it.

  • You have 20 windows 7 product keys?

  • yes i do.

    all genuine.

  • Why?

  • i would give them away when they are not making them anymore.

  • can i have a few please?

  • product key? sure!

  • ok then thanks an can i download the windows 7 anywhere for free btw?

  • mmicrosoft gives away iso's

if they dont anymore then go to thepiratebay . org

    and get it there.

  • i wasnt able to find a free download for it, but trust me... windows 7 isnt worth the time or space. do what this guy does on this vid, that's the best option

  • rofl i can take that much xD

  • I wouldn't even bother installing Vista.

  • Yeah windows 7 ftw...

  • LMFAO.....!!!

  • -__-

  • THANK YOU SOOO MUCH!!!! WORKED GREAT!!!! subscribed! GUYS THIS WORKS!

  • how to make home basic look like home premium

  • Worth it for the extra hdd imo. If one hdd fails, you will always have the other operating system on the 2nd hdd.

  • I can t choose what to boot i dont get boot manager i have 1partition (XP primary) 2partition (Programfiles logical) 3partition (Vista logical) and vista boots every time how to set up dual boot ?

  • thanx so much my friend. i installed xp over vista unknowing that i was losing 2 of my processors as i have a quad core. everytime i installed vista it loads windows fine but when it shuts off for the last time on install it freezes on a black screen sayin vista loader. hopefully your theory will solve this. can i just say again thanx a lot

  • vista loader?

is ur vista a genuine version?

  • i cannot more install xp, its says everytime"a disk read error occuruppted!"

  • oh my freekin god thank you so much

I honestly had no idea how to duel boot, and all the how to's require alot of different programs and knowledge that I didnt have, thank you so much

  • How exactly would I dual boot with two separate hard drives? I don't really want to partition my current drive. I would like to get a second hard drive and install vista 64 bit on it.

  • What u do is create a second partition from ur MAIN HARDDRIVE, under that harddrive is ur vista partition

u have to create a second partition.

go to ur start menu right clic my computer and click manage then go to disk managment and create a new 1

  • what fickledo is asking is how to dual boot with 2 hard drives, each drive having a different OS. 1 drive has XP, 1 drive has Vista. does the boot menu still pop up and prompt for which OS to boot in?

  • I already have vista and XP on it, before i saw this video. I have done that because, Windows Vista doesn't support many programs and devices, while XP does.

  • especially crackd programs

  • if i partition my hard drive and install have vista on one, xp on the other,

will i be able to get to my files running on xp when vista os is running and vice-versa?

    thank you for answers!!!

  • im not sure i get what ur sayin but im pretty sure u can only use 1 OS at atime i have leopard and Vista and can only do 1 at a time

im really pissed off at havin no internet on my leopard os -_____________-

  • thanks i feel so stupid i didnt think it would be that easy.but ha thanks for the video

  • im using partition magic and when i try to make another primary its says it will not be bootable what do i do

  • wheres you links page i cant find the software any where for free is it free or do i need to pay???

  • thanks dude helped me sooo much

  • Hey can you do this from vista to xp

  • yep^^

  • How would you install vista and xp on seperate drives without having to switch them to use them?

  • setup a bootloader.

  • I installed vista to a logical partition, not a primary one. Is this a bad idea? All seemd well untill i rebooted to xp and chkdisk started running and began detecting curpt files and deleting them. same hapended wen reboted after to vista. everyfin runs fine apart from vista my comptuer wont enable on desktop

  • i did this using Partition magic and it worked fine i now have XP Pro 64-bit & Vista Ultimate 64-bit, i only use Vista for the direct X 10 games. i prefer XP =) Vista is good tho

  • wish i hadseen this b4 i tried 4 myself n fucked up XD

  • computers have really put an end to television.

  • could you just partition the drives with the xp blue install setup screen.

  • Thanks for the great info!

    I'm going the other way!

I'm really losing my patience with Vista!! ;)

  • So can i add more space to a already 9mb partioned out of 320gb drive?

  • I partioned my drive...but it only partioned to 9mb...is there anyway i can add to that? or do i hvae to reformat my drive?

  • Depends on how you partitioned the drive and how big the drive is. Use a partitioning software like Partition Commander. makes it a lot easier.

  • What if i already have Vista pre-installed and i want to dual boot it with XP?? Is it virtually the same procedure

  • yup

  • hey, sry, got another question, i have an acer desktop, and my disk 0 is broken already in 3 parts, all are labeled healthy, but is Healthy(EISA configuration) and 6.83 gb, the one labled ACER (C:) is Healthy(system, boot, page file, active, crash dump, primary partition), and the last is DATA(D:) Healthy(primary partition), which section should i make room in

  • hey i was wonderin if i could dual boot xp onto my computer that already has vista on it, and i was wondering if it would be easier to put xp onto my data drive, which is blank

  • Yes and yes! Read past comments. Thanks

  • I was bored so I put XP VISTA and LINUX on mine. The GRUB has to be put in the XP MBR. It works the same but the GRUB starts first then if you choose your windows. LINUX is ok but I'm learning a little. Good video very easy to follow...

  • thanks for this, i was wanting to try vista for a long time. would this work with an external hard drive?

  • Never tried it on an external drive. Some motherboards will let you boot to an external drive. If so then yes it is possible.

  • this is a great video, i also have vista and would like to download XP. Does shrinking the partition mean to shrink the volume? and in order to get XP, you need to dowload it from the XP CD correct?

  • Yes, on both questions. And thanks!

  • ok i dont really get it but i have a 80 gig hard drive and i am running vista it was pre loaded on my computer and my hard drive is split up in to 2 equal parts...what do i do? and do i need to get all the xp drivers for my machine to run xp? thanks please someone help!

  • Not sure why u have 2 equal partitions. If the 2nd partition is empty u can use it to install XP. It's a bit more involved than adding vista to an XP computer. Xp will not recognize Vista once it's installed and you'll have to repair Vista then install EasyBCD to create the dual boot.

  • Great video! At the beginning you said that you could dual boot with two drives. How is that different then dual booting with one drive? Would it make dual booting with vista installed first easier?

  • Having two drives is a little easier in that you don't have to partition the one drive into two partitions. Saves time. Otherwise the process is the same.

  • does dual boot work perfectly? My reasons for dual booting are so i can play my old windows xp games perfectly in xp and direct 10 games in vista. which version of vista should i be using for home use for gaming and multimedia? can i dual boot with raid disks no problem

  • I have a dual boot system with Vista + XP for several months with no problems. Your reason for dual booting is a perfect example of why to dual boot. As far as raids go, I havn't tried it but it should work as long as you have the RAID driver on a floppy to install during OS installation.

  • great video, very informative, thanks.

  • It's a bit more involved since the bootloader is overwritten when you install XP. Use the DISKPART on the Vista DVD to shrink the Vista partition on the hard disk and create enough space for an installation of Vista. Then install XP, repair the Vista bootloader which will be overwritten during the XP installation, and then use the EasyBCD utility to configure Vista's bootloader to boot the XP partition. I havn't tried this yet but I'll create a video when I do.
