Guys, this is not a single player game like the rest of FFs. This is an MMORPG, and these games are differnet. Its like Wow and Everquest and Square is trying to capitalize on that. Its a different game. But on the bright side, online RPGs usually offer a lot more gameplay, so if they get this right we could have a very new experience with FF feel.

When FF14 released, I was so excited to play it even after playing beta. FFXIV is TERRIBLE for people that actually want to play. You are FORCED to craft to gain physical level so you can level your class. The entire game is based around crafting. The only quests in the game make you craft items. I made the mistake of buying this without looking too deep into it because I loved FFXI. SE really failed on this one.

@DragonLcver I stoped playing FF titles, when they released FF XII. That was it for me, FFXII was not what I expected it to be. I've always known the limitation in graphics, but that should not be a problem in 2010, it's ridiculous to even say otherwise. I'll usually stay away from online titles specially when I know, most of the mmo which goes online don't look that great, either server bullshit, or client bullshit. But that aside, I hate FF with girls as main characters, that's it, I'm done.

@550over That's more or less true. You need a rather strong processor and complimentary graphics card to run it at playable settings. It will not run well on a cheaper spec'd computer or a midrange laptop of today. If it helps; an Alienware M11x laptop with a core i7 1.2ghz processor and a GT335m GPU can run the game at an average of 20fps. My build; Core i5 750, HD 5770, 4gb 1333mhz ram is running at around 60fps or higher.
@azshalata It's only in beta for the American release. The game's remained free in Korea and the cash shop doesn't contain anything game breaking, just cosmetic items that don't really effect the game at all. If you played the "prequel", Mabinogi, it does the same thing... just a larger backpack and some mounts for the players that want it.

I'm hoping this will be like everquest or WOW I love MMORPG games and it's about time they put a good one on a console. I'm a fan of FF but I think the game play will be something new.

From what I've heard, it's a lot of grinding and it looks to be about the same as all other F2P gameplay in terms of content. In other words, it is probably the same old boring, grinding stuff.

What happened to the CGI quality ?1 What's this supposed to mean, "We can make a CGI movie trailer look amazing, sadly we can't do the same for the game", why botter make a trailer which doesn't come close to what the game looks like, isn't that illigal by law, false advertising is illigal my Japanese Devs, and we don't take kindly to lawbreakers in this town !

@Ryuuken24 U would think & hope so, but the biggest disappointment in that sense is SWTOR. they came out with a vid called "Deceived" and that's what it did on a new level of gaming. never has any1 seen a more badass vid, and then months later find out the game has playstation ii cell shaded graphics.but the game has BOSE equivalent audio so i guess that makes up for it? not for me, when i see games like aion, blades & soul and tera online, seems like the koreans r the 1's pushing the envelope.

@DragonLcver I stoped playing FF titles, when they released FF XII. That was it for me, FFXII was not what I expected it to be. I've always known the limitation in graphics, but that should not be a problem in 2010, it's ridiculous to even say otherwise. I'll usually stay away from online titles specially when I know, most of the mmo which goes online don't look that great, either server bullshit, or client bullshit. But that aside, I hate FF with girls as main characters, that's it, I'm done.

Cus the only game i know that can beat XIII in graphics is crysis, and isn't Crysis 2007 or something like that) And, ff is so much more the graphics, and it's sad that graphics are mainly what you care about. And there are other protagonists. As for the online comment, I wasn't all that interested in XI.

@550over That's more or less true. You need a rather strong processor and complimentary graphics card to run it at playable settings. It will not run well on a cheaper spec'd computer or a midrange laptop of today. If it helps; an Alienware M11x laptop with a core i7 1.2ghz processor and a GT335m GPU can run the game at an average of 20fps. My build; Core i5 750, HD 5770, 4gb 1333mhz ram is running at around 60fps or higher.

@azshalata It's only in beta for the American release. The game's remained free in Korea and the cash shop doesn't contain anything game breaking, just cosmetic items that don't really effect the game at all. If you played the "prequel", Mabinogi, it does the same thing... just a larger backpack and some mounts for the players that want it.
