The Great American Dollhouse Museum was out of power for 3 days; when we got power back earlier than a lot of people we cranked up the heat and served free food and hot coffee for people who were still out. That was the only fun part of the storm!
We didn't have power for eleven days at my house, I was trapped with my brother who wouldn't stop talking the whole time, we didn't have any heat/useable water, and trees were about to crush our house. -.-
Eric: kudos on an very effective video. Your synergy of image, music and poetry was lovely and poignant. Like the hurricanes down my way, the awesome forces of nature are frequently terrible and beautiful at the same time; a not so subtle reminder of our true ranking in the power hierarchy of the natural world. Thank you for sharing this.
Have any of you local people began prepping for the next one/ food, water ? I am in Garrard county give me a shout.

I'm a native of Danville and yeah we got hit hard. Maple avenue where most of these images are from has to have been one of the harder hit areas.

It was an awful storm, but it gave many people a chance to just be with their families
