Apache helicopters are designed to take out tanks. Last tine I checked, the fight at the Mog did not even have any tanks until the UN ones who showed up later. And those were on our side. So your point is moot.

Garrison requested AC-130 gunships and light armor (Bradlies) and was denied. While it is arguable, I think they would have made a significant impact on the fight.
