@oliverb96 Hi Oliver there are few diferent sets, first one with 14" hats 20" ride and 16" crash. Also second one 14" Hats and 18" crash. You can find these sets with 13" hats.
The only cymbal of the Planet Z series that I think sounds decent is the 16" crash, I have it and think it has a very unique sound, as for the others, well they are pretty crappy.
@rollerghost615 You have got to be smoking something. The 16" crash is definetly the worst cymbal in the pack. I'd even go as far as to call it the worst cymbal in the world, it sounds so shitty. It reminds me of a poor splash cymbal, which is just wrong. So now I'm selling it half price so I can buy a PST 5 Crash as a replacement. Anyways, I have no problems with the Ride, it is definetly worth it, and I have mixed feeling for the HHs.
I mean it has been a while since the P.Z's have even been on my kit, and the one I remember liking the most was the crash. I did modify it a little though to get it to sound right. lol I did just listen to a sound test though and your right, it sounded pretty bad.
I'm am currently working on selling all my old cymbals so I can buy some K's, because in my ears they are the best cymbals out there, I just absolutely love there rich tones. ;)
@rollerghost615 I'm not really an expert on cymbals, do you have any recommendations for a decent HH? As I said, I'm getting a Paiste PST 5 Crash for the money I get for the Z 16" crash, and possibly the one in the video aswell, assuming it sells, because it's really messed up due to a problem with the stand I didn't notice. My birthday is in about a week, so I reckon anything up to 420 Dollars or 260 Pounds is optional.
I'm not really an expert on cymbals either, I pretty much just go to my local guitar center and ask for a pair of testing sticks. Then you can ask the employees to take a cymbal of off its rack, and they let you hook it up to one of there testing sets. I pretty much just do everything by ear, if I like the sound I'll buy it. So I recommend going to your local music store and just buy what you feel sounds the best. For me that's any cymbal in the Zildjian K series.
@rollerghost615 And also, I had planned going to town and checking up some cymbals there, I don't go so often though, seeing as it's 20 mins by car :-/
@rakadungdung I have a set of Planet Z's and ZBT's that I've had for a long time, I'm hoping I can get decent amount of money for them off eBay. I'll need at least 300 dollars to buy one K, (That is unless I buy them off of eBay as well.)
Haha, yes that's true. Around 300 dolars a pop, that is why I am selling a lot of my equipment to get them. ;) I've heard some good things about ZXT's and HH's, but ZHT's have gotten bad marks, they sound decent to me though. My ZBT's sound 'okay' in a soundproof room, but other than that they sound pretty bad.
i just started drums and ive been playing for about a month and i got just two cymbals the 18 crash ride and 14 hihats and i hate the hihats so much the sound worse than a tin can id so rather have sabians or paiste or another line of zildjians i really dont like these
@MrDrummerdude2 They break easy? I've had them since this video was up, about 1 and a half year, and they're still not showing any physical signs of damage... I also play Thrash Metal, which makes them more likely to break, seeing as it's fast and tough
these are good for beginners but not much more than that. i have a planet z set, i had to switch the crash cuz it cracked and i really want a new ride. theyre not really bad, its just that they dont really work for experienced drummers.
I have the 4 pack and i play A lot of metal and heavy stuff the ride and crash are alright the hats aren't great...I would recomend getting lighter hi-hats...
im selling off my planet z cymbals...14in hi-hats, 16in crash, 18in crashride and 20in ride......for like rs. 7000......if u live in kolkata......message me if ur interested
i have one of those and when u play the bell play with the side not the tip because it will eventually break after times passed and if u use the side it has a louder and better tone to it
dont get them. planet z's are not even constructed with copper. they are built from recycled metal.Put out the extra cash and buy the ZBT's they're are way better.
pt que pendejo eres, si vas a hacer un test hazlo con un micro profesional, no el mic de la camara
that fool you, if you do make a test with a professional mic, not the camera mic!

rakadungdung 3 years ago
just a tip: when you play on the bell, dont use the tip of the stick, use the side of it. Sometimes it can break the tip of you use it.

Allright, thanks for the tip :)

thanks for uploading, i was wondering if buying the planet z set was a good idea, the ride sounds nice.

copper and zinc alloy = brass lol
djfireball999 3 years ago
ya zbt's are way better, planet z has no ring or resonance to it, it just sounds like hitting a steel pole.
