  • SONG NAME PLS :)

  • Hey nutnfancy, do you bring your rifle with you when you go on your adventures?

  • @thatkoreandude i cant exactly speak for the dude, but from what iv seen, a rifle is way too heavy and not needed. he usually brings a small subcompact handgun, like the keltec pf 9 or something similar

  • This videos almost reduces me to tears of memories of good friends and loving family when we were young single guys. I am the only single guy left, and I survived the onslaught of naggings, drama, accidental death/injury & other heartbreaks of being a young man. I am 31 now, and I am often called a caveman by my young, so called 'online social networking' peers (sheep) due my outdoors passions & past hobbies. Thanks for sharing this gift of a video, and the excellent tnp channel. God bless.

  • Good memories of dog.

  • sry but i can't find the song on your friend's channel. I really would like to have it, sounds amazing? Can you help me?

Great video of course, love your vids.

  • Nutnfancy and Cr0ckert,

About all that be said, the music, the mountains, BBQ chicken in -3 degrees (awesome) and the friendship the two of you have, thank you for sharing.

    Denny

  • im new to backpacking and i was wondering if anyone can help. i live in california and it seems like most of the backpacking trails and parks here do not allow you to start a fire let along chop down trees. so where can i go to "rough" it out and do whatever i need to stay warm/cook food etc like nutn and crock are doing here?

  • very nice!

    how long you stayed there?

  • @mehdimansor watch the subzero videos from the actual trip on the channel.

  • haha that dog is the best xD!#

  • If you don't mind me asking, nutfancy, where do you guys live? I have lived in Idaho, Utah, and now currently in Montana, and there is a ton of great hiking to be had in those states. Looks to me like you all live around the Northwest too?

  • I love this video! Nutnfancy your awsome!

  • Lol Allie is awesome in all her Sub-Zero winter gear haha!

  • that is a very nice video!!!!

    what`s that for a music?

    a very nice video!!!!

  • wow that was inspiring allie is the best

  • Your dog is so cool :D

  • @kungfujellybean It is truly telling that your mind goes immediately to sodomy. Are you perhaps in denial? Or are you just suppressing?

I would be willing to bet that 99% of the guys that follow Nut'n's videos have never seen Brokebacki Mtn, and yet you seem to know all about it....HMMMMMM!

  • This was really nice to see. The visuals and music were a very pleasant mix. With global warming and stressful jobs, life can seem bleak sometimes. It's nice to see that there is some good out there, some pieces of gold all out in our back yards. We just have to go out and find them.

Don't mind the past, there's a lot to regret.

Don't worry about the future, you'll find a lot to fret.

Live in the moment, never forget.

It's all about the memories, the people you've met.

    ps Allie is awsome <3

  • @pancho123007 I tried to use a converter but it didn't work very well. It should be around -47 Celsius. World would be better if you used Celsius and meters like the rest of the world. ;)

  • thumbs up to you. Since i hate cold :(

  • Nice vid but man, you should come to Sweden sometime and feel some real cold. Now we have in the northern parts -100 Fahrenheit and it's only December. ;)

  • Wonderful to way to make a video of your past experiences. Well done!

  • @pancho123007 Have fun and be safe! -- Veri

  • did i see an AX?!!!

  • the adventure videos are a nice change of pace from reviews (which are nice too) keep em coming

  • @kungfujellybean Wow, that's not the first thing I thought of when watching this. In fact it never crossed my mind. Interesting that's what came to your mind when watching. I haven't ever had the desire to see "Brokeback" either. Sounds like you know the movie well though.

  • @Cr0cket20 Exactly mate. Sounds like kungfu might be into guys. Great vid and adventure you guys made there.

  • I have never been in deep snow before. Watching you sink in even with the snow shoes, is it because of the heavy pack. Would a longer or wider snow shoe help. I do not like the cold, but I thought I would ask.

  • Oh wow!!!!

Your food looks awesome this trip!!!!

I can eat some right now

  • @kungfujellybean Actually, it does sound a little like a personal problem...your's. If your imagination is giving you unwanted imagery, maybe a cold shower would help. -- Veri

  • @nutnfancy ; Hahahahaha. And, it's coming from kung fu jelly bean, PRICELESS!

  • @nutnfancy

Well said Veri. God bless you and your family.

  • Nice video! You're a good man nutn! Carry on ...

  • What knife is your buddy using to split the wood?

  • @pubpukeNfight ESEE Junglas

  • awesome adventure, never have been able to have a snow adventure like that, not much of that here in south Louisiana, but if you ever want to change it up and have an adventure on the bayou, I'd be more than humbled to take you!

  • i relly like your dog a loyal companian thats all you need in life :)

  • Great vid man. We are planning our winter trips up here in Michigan. I have run into the deal where people dont want to be filmed I am still going but will only be filming bymyself or in the tent. I just havnt found the team that wants to be on YT yet but we are still haveing a great time.

    - schmoo -

  • That sucks about bugget. It seems cr0cket is a worthy successor though! You are truly lucky to have a like-minded hiking companion.

  • Dude we want more!!!

  • when r u gonna do this vis? :(:( im very eager to watch this .... please

  • im favoriting this just for the music

  • @Invader001 Great music for sure, Bryanisms does great. Thanks.

  • are those Leki trekking poles?

  • Hey Veri, what kind of Axe is he using in this?

  • @semisi2uh Its a Coid Steel Norsehawk. -- Veri

  • luv it....just luv it

    awesome

  • Looks like fun as usual, can't wait for the full video(s)!!

  • @Fizzoid Thanks man...I hope they're not disappointing: just a snow trek to a campfire build is all. Sometimes I worry they're boring. But this cold on this trek was stout!

  • @nutnfancy Well, as the saying goes, you can please some of the people some of the time...

It's probably still going to be a useful reference video at worst, I wouldn't worry

  • is that from this year?we wont get snow for maybe a month or two, power to yall, get it brothers......get it hell yea

  • What a great video journal. Made me feel like I was there. Nice tunes too.

I dig these non-review videos. Nutn is just real.

Notice how he pans the camera around just taking it all in. Crocket checking out the jay. Just like tree huggers, but with meat.

These guys would fit right in at our elk camp.

  • @TheMinzwa Great comment and thanks for the feedback. Cr0cket20 and I are pretty much on the exact wavelength: we genuinely connect with the wilderness and enjoy the company of the critters we are lucky enough to see out there. It fills the soul for us and we try the best we can to translate it on camera. You elk camp sounds cool.

  • Glad to see CrOcket didn't forget his gloves this time. ;) Can't wait for the Kelty Eagle review because I"m really debating between that pack and a Mystery Ranch pack.

  • @peculiarindividual Really digging that Eagle 7850 from this trek, performed great. I researched several others but was really turned off by their stuck-up pricing with no increase in quality. I will review it. Cr0cket's outdoor systems are improving on every trek; like us all we experiment to see what works best for us in a given situation.

  • I've been busy with the family and just had some time to catch up on my Nutn/Crocket vids....Sweet footage fellas. Reminds me of my Adirondack Mtns here in NY.

  • Looks like great times can't wait to go out on a hike like that.

  • Thanks for sharing Nutn, looks like a great time. Awesome scenery!

  • Right on, brother.

  • Who would not like this video this is awesome!!! As a busy college student with finals looming around the corner it is nice to take a break and watch nutn's videos with this much spirit and passion because I am unable to get out there in the wilderness right now.

  • what pack were you using

  • @squintyeye79 its the Kelty Eagle 7850 ($400 retail $240 pro price) the big brother to the falcon ($300 retail $180 pro price) 4000 in their tactical line of packs. Early in the postings Nutn confirmed its in review process he just needs to take it on a multiday hike.

  • @ronin07x Great answer Ronin as usual and you are 100% correct: I won't feel legit in reviewing the pack until a multi0day trip. I hope to do this soon. Kelty is an outstanding company that delivers much bang for the buck.

  • This just made my day. Thanks

  • i cant see why u cut down 3 trees

Was it to put the fire on ????

  • Was that an ESEE 6 I saw @ 5:27?

  • @jlunit416 Actually, n/m it looked more like a Junglas.

  • @jlunit416 Yes, Junglas. Performed outstandingly again on this 2nd test outing for it (temp=-6ºF).

  • Never mind found out which pack it was by being not lazy and looking through the comments. Just an fyi the slighlty smaller model the falcon 4000 can be purchased by leo/mil or other first responders for 180 bucks direct from kelty the one nutn is using in the vid can be purchased in the 200s serious inqueries feel free to message me on my youtube account.

  • @ronin07x Good news about the 4000 cube Kelty Falcon too. BTW the top of the Eagle (as shown here) can be removed to downsize and save weight. I like the MOLLE on this pack.

  • that is such a happy doggie!!!

  • Can anybody tell me what internal frame nutn was using it looks like the kelty falcon 4000 or the next model up in their tactical line I've been dying for a review of those two packs any insight fellow tnp'rs

  • beautifully done Nutn... I'm glad you've shared with us so many of the memories you've made.

  • Your tactical review videos are great, but your adventure videos with Allie and friends is the real reason I subscribed. Keep up the fantastic work Nutnfancy!

  • very personal way, much like the high skies series. i appreciate the work you do, and consider myself finally, one of your biggest fans, not only of your project, but of you as a person. Thanks.

  • @lawlpally Humbled by the comment and I am undeserving. I'm just some middle-aged dude out there trying to make the most out of life and bring my friends along for the ride. Friends like you. Thanks.

  • nutnfancy, i've been a subscriber for a very long time. however, i've always watched from a distance, persay. i've never been one to hang on your every word on tactics, gear reviews, or the like, but always watched your videos to atleast see another side of the coin. I've since come to realize that your videos are top notch, not just by youtube standards, but by standards of all forms of media in relation to gear/outdoors/shooting. something about this video, specifically, touched me in a....

  • @lawlpally Wow, thanks law for the comment. In my reviews I do nothing more than provide some opinion on systems and my data points. Some will be right, some will be wrong, all will be genuine. That seems to connect with good people around the world & I try very hard not to disappoint them in the quality I strive for. I don't feel my vid product is anything special but sometimes I am able to achieve something inspiring. SubZero might be that way. BTW Cr0cket20 came up with the name on it.

  • @nutnfancy That is very fitting, Nutn! I admire your efforts, and appreciate your commitment to everything you have shown.

  • Thanks for the vid!!! Did you do just a day hike? I think you did just the day, because you did not set up for camp at dusk.

    Stephen

  • Lol love the doggie rain coat

  • This might be my favoritest nutnfancy vid yet. Thanks for sharing the adventure!

  • Dogs Rock!

  • This video is amazing & I can only imagine that the hike was even better. Dinner looked awesome & the great thing about bringing meat out in these temps is that you don't have to worry about it spoiling. Great stuff fellas. I'll be getting out soon & plan on bringing the camera, take care.

  • if that were me i would haved brought my skies ;)

  • It's a special kind of sickness that enjoys cold like that... but beautiful. Makes me wish I could join ya.

  • Hey Nutnfancy, do you have any wintergloves that you can suggest?

  • @DualSigP22640 music by "Bryanisms"

  • @nutnfancy I like your videos, however this one kind of has the sad undertone of something you would see at a funeral home :o( Absolutely breath taking views, I need to go back out to the Rockies. Also miss having your commentary of what is going on.

  • Best clip 3:20 -3:45

  • Loved the video & music.

  • holy moly, thats cold dude! Extreme beauty & a lot o work, especially humpin up the snow covered sloap, that separates men from boys quick.

I was in that same cold snap, decided to turn on the furnace just before & my motor burned out lol, had to wait till Thanksgiving mornin to get it, after the snap snapped. We were semi cold, in the house, cookin whatever we could think to cook ... while you were out there doin it extra crazy on purpose! lol. To cold out there to even make an igloo brrrrrr!

  • Wow, I didn't expect this type of video =^_^=

I love it, great job, looks fun as hell.

Did you bring a Weapon just in case?

  • Allie is my favorite of all the TNP personalities. Great video.

  • Wow. Some very powerful comments. One must truly appreciate a gift.

  • How do you like those "Barkin Boots"? Worth the dough?

  • I have the same backpack for my dog, except green. Great pack, I have to endorse the company, it's called RuffWear and the pack is the "Approach". It still spins around on her (belgian malinois), but not too bad if you keep it balanced. She carries her own supplies, and has on many Adirondack hikes.

  • Inspiring and beautiful sir. I adore how Allie follows you as you hike up the deep powder. The shots of the snow-covered boughs are especially stirring. Many thanks Nutn and Crocket. Perfect music Bryanisms!

  • Allie needs her own light strobe maybe great vid thanks again

  • Excellent! Nuttn and Crocket, I watch this tonight with the hope this saterday to head up north to the catskills for a fun overnight stay, will keep on watching this to get me pumped! Thank You for a great adventure!

  • 3:28 LOL allie is so frisky

  • This is in Utah right?

  • For those who just don't get it, that right there is what its all about. For those of us who aren't physically capable of going out and doing some of the things nutn n crew do, these videos are more than just information, motivation or even inspiration. For some of us it is the closest we may ever get to real living. For me its spinal disease, for someone else it may be MD or heart disease or a million other things but we do what we can and nutnfancy does that and more.

    Thanks nutn. Keep going.

  • You sure know how to live life.

  • Haha. I love Allie. So cute with all of her gear on. She would follow you to hell and back.

  • Dang that snow looks fun. I live in very "sunshine"y state. Love the forest, but would like to experience it the way you guys do. Keep those vids coming.

  • Brrr, makes me cold just watching. Thanks for taking us along!

  • OOOPs found out the answer to my question about the pack... thanks nutn for another vid. Oh and I hope Veri is doing great too. Now i have to save up to buy this pack.. I will be praying for you guys at TNP and our troops. HOOAH!

  • hey nutn! I would really like a pack just like the coyote tan one you are wearing in this vid. What make and model is it? Thanks for everything. (Im going to ask Santa for the Condor OPMC vest for christmas... lol.) God bless you and your family. Keep up the great work.

  • @nutnfancy Does Allie like her little pack with the hood and all?

  • Really great stuff! Thank you brother!

  • great video nutn!

  • I'm with NorwayLaughs here, I though Bugget was awesome. If it's really hard work he couldnt keep up with, maybe just do some adventuring in temperate conditions with him? Unless I misunderstood that and there was behind the camera hard work. Anyway, I hope your guys' personal relationship is still intact, I'd hate to see the project have longtime friends grow apart.

  • @Wingsfan7 Thanks guys. Bugget is a great guy & I tried very hard in making him a part of my vision here and having him be a part. I was unsuccessful and his life demands (that we ALL have) always take first priority. He never really got what's going on here in YT with TNP and encouraged me to leave it all behind and abandon it several times so we could just "do our thing." "Just leave the camera and let's go shooting." Me: "I can't abandon my audience like that." He never accepted that.

  • @nutnfancy Thanks a lot man, and like myself, many others probably appreciate the honest reply in regards to Bugget. It's a shame, but I hope things are still alright between you two, but at least there will always be high skies, which - like you always talk about - is a memory that we all got to take part in via viewing, and it seems like it won't happen again, and it's one of your best series I think. Best regards to you, Veri, Cr0cket20, the family and Bugget.

  • loved it ;) ,this is why i moved out of the city into the county.great vid.peace from up north.the wife still does not understand why we need to buy so many knives lol.thank you

  • Class, woke up the smorn and it was snowing all I wanted to do was hit up the hills with my lab, but had to work hope it isn't thawed out by weekend

  • great vid, keep it up....cracking up at the dog trying to walk through all this snow...hilarious...

  • I always love the moments when you guys make a fire and then sit around it. Sitting around a natural source of light and heat.

Maybe I'm a pyromaniac but I love staring at a fire and dreaming away. ;)

btw the music was great with this video

  • That shit looks amazing. I live in colorado, and there is a place just like it that I hike every year.

  • I'm looking foreward to this one Nutn... It's still in the 60s in AZ and I'm seriously missing my winter hikes! Thanks again for everything you do bro

  • thats some hiking environment you got there

this is so relaxing with the music

i love hiking but ive never tried it during winter must be fun, might try camping in winter too : )

allie really seems to enjoy hiking in the outdoors

im thinking about get a hiking buddy my self do you know what breed is good for hiking?

anyways keep up the great videos this one made my day

  • what an awsome vid. that hike looked brutal and i am sure it was. ty for taking along the camera to capture it for us loyal TNPers.

  • This video makes me want to get a dog now.

It just sucks how my apartment won't let me have pets. :(

  • Awesome!!! It took a while waiting for a new hiking video!! I all love them aswell Allie the mountain dog! Thanks for sharing these beautifull moments!!!

  • I find my self reminiscing on some of my outings. Great video! Bryanisms did a great job capturing it in song. It is almost as if he saw it ahead of time before coming up with it (maybe he did...I dunno). My hat is off to you Nutnfancy and am looking forward to the new series. Thanks for all you and your crew do!

  • another great vid, nice audio too. best wishes and happy holidays to you and the nutnfancy family & friends.

  • Awesome video!

  • nutn, could you please do a video about your dog and some of the equipment/gear she uses. Heck even the background story about how you got her and such.

  • Excellent video. That dog is loving the whole experience; ("come on dad, clear that trail")! As a note, dogs should be feed raw food; on that day, with her workload she would have ate between 4% to 5% of her body weight in raw whole chicken, and plenty of water.

  • Beautiful footage accompanied by the amazing, almost mesmerizing, background music from Bryanisms. A much appreciated addtion to TNP!

  • Comment removed

  • I love Allie so much!

  • I got tears of joy watching this. Your vids are just amazing for all kinds of reasons, one is because I can relate.

  • Man, I love that dog!!!

Allie is my favorite TNP'er ever.

Keep up the fantastic videos bro!

  • Ain't life great!

  • @TheBeeperman Hell Yeah!!!!!

  • I don't want to monopolize your time, but I feel compelled to tell you that I've benefitted from various equipment recommendations you've made. This summer, I had the opportunity to use the Kelty Redwing 3100, the Sawvivor, and the Ka-Bar Large Heavy Bowie; all of which performed flawlessly for me. I've learned about wood processing from your videos, and the methods worked well for me. Cheers.

  • @AmatuerProductionsCo Nope thermometer read -3ºF at that time.

  • I'm a city boy, and your videos are very inspiring to me. I want to get out into the wilderness myself.

  • Another great video! I can't wait for the longer editions! Keep up the great work.

  • @juin212000 Thanks man. I hope they're not a let down for ya'll. I'm always afraid the "actuals" are boring. I will put them together soon.

  • Is an RTAK2 (or perhaps a Junglas) you had with you on this one? I seem to see that one more than the Trailmaster on recent videos. Is it your new favorite (aside from the recent revelation of the Cold Steel Kukri)?

  • @dunfamalb I love the RTAK II still and the Trailmaster, nothing's changed. However I don't have the luxury as a gear tester of always using my favorite blades...actually never. I am always learning about other equally awesome blades and I have to push myself out of the rut and my tendency to stick with my tried and true blades. The Junglas was primary for this trip as well and it rocked. It's basically an RTAK II with a better handle and sheath.

  • @nutnfancy Understood my friend. I'm excited to hear what you discover about the Junglas' (similarities, differences) and its performance in real world conditions. Considering the extreme price difference between it and the RTAK2, I'm looking forward to the education. Much thanks.

  • hey nutnfancy would that pack by chance be the Kelty Eagle 7850. i have been looking at that pack for a while now, and i see you have it. what was your thought on it if you would be kind enough to share it with me. we have the big kelty tioga external frames, but i still dont have enough room for my solars and shortwaves and all my other stuff. plus they get alittle uncomfortable on heavy loads over 80+ pounds. thanks for all you very helpfull videos, and hope you reply thanks.

  • @MrGambler9999 "would that pack by chance be the Kelty Eagle 7850" Yes it would! I intentionally carried a lot of stuff on this outing to test it (and the ultra cold conditions called for some extra gear; actually a SD Clip Flashlight and 0º down bag were in there too for emerg.). I carried about 70 or so lbs that day (lots of blades for testing too) and the Eagle was fantastic. I will do a separate review on it I like it so much. I got it from Amron Intl...tell them I sent ya'!

  • i feel for Allie sleepin' in the same tent as nutn... nutnfancy's eating bacon & beans! lol j/k

great video dude. looks like a real tough hike.

  • @dem0n1k I light it up for sure!

  • Going back in the night would of been hard...

  • @swiftwren The coldness was serious...ask Cr0cket20. -10ºF When we hiked down (this was a single day trip b. it was the day before Thanksgiving...and I had to work!). With proper gear it was no big deal when you're moving. When you stop moving, you NEED a fire and food for fuel, otherwise it gets ugly quick. An overnight expedition (or better yet a 3 day) is much easier: you get your camp squared away, you can amass wood, your tent is shelter for warming up).

  • Awesome..!

  • simply amazing

  • Everyone's sayin it so lets say it again - just pretty Beautiful. Don't get to see much of that in Hawaii. Don't think i'd be able to handle the-3 degs though. And where the hell were you guys going in the middle of the night?

  • @79outlaw Thanks for the support much appreciated. Cr0cket20 was a great hiking companion and cameraman too. We make a good team. The wind was mild but the temps were attention getting: great gear testing weather. I told Cr0cket20 this is perfect blade testing weather. I really wanted to thump on some D2 blades out there but no time trying to stay alive ;-). HI rocks too...much adventure waiting for me in that state too. Peace.

  • Ah, the beautiful Rockies (or so I assume, looks like home anyway). Allieshoes are fantastic.

  • Man That Global Warming Sure Is A Bitch ? I am Freezing My Butt Off In So . Calif .

  • Beautiful It cannot be explain with words,

  • @sudaka0033 Thank you so much and I agree. I do the best I can at conveying our love of the wilderness when we get out...and capturing the feeling it inspires.

  • i want to do this one day cant wate

  • Very Nice to see an Adventure outing again, hope you have many more in your lives. Unfortunately ones physical prowess wears down with time,"Carpe Diem" brother! Trips like these are precious, enjoy not just the trip but the friendship that comes with it. Thanks for taking us along again!

  • @TRAVERZULU3 Thanks and you are correct. We are limited in our lifespans in these adventures. But I hope to be a Dick Proeneke and stay out in the wilderness into my 80s. Wish us all luck.

  • Wonderful video. Back in the day I used to run 10 miles in sand along the beach. I thought that was a work out. I could not image what it is like to trek through the mountains uphill, in the snow, with a 60lb pack on my back. Hats off to you both!!! Beautiful scenery!!! Love the shots of Alley. As always, thanks and keep up the great work!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @MongoWongo777 Hello Mongo and thank you. Yes that deep snow was killer. Cr0cket20 and I took turns blazing through the 5 foot deep virgin powder. Huge energy required and we were pretty tired when we established the "camp." In these conditions you can do about 1/7th your normal distance...maybe less. Two miles seems like twenty and the going is slow. But you achieve solitude real quick... few are willing to get out in this coldness!
