@Carlingram1 bigger drivers dont need to have a lot of excursion to reach the required levels, so they vibrate less then smaller drivers

lol danks452, This is an mpro, which is a jrx118 sub that isnt carpeted but has the tolex type covering instead. in any account these subs are alright, but dont have the greatest sound in the world

@Fedrizzle Agreed that they don't have the best sound, however they were an early model of the MRX series, and the power rating on the passive mpro sub is 600/1200/2400 where the jrx sub is 350/700/1400. It was definately a better cab then the JRX, and is still used by large name sound companies for smaller venues.

If I were to buy speakers base on this video, I would of nevered go with JBL. Luckly I didn't see this stupid video before I bought a pair of JBL MRX525 series. the subwoofer in this video is the JRX-100 Series and it is the Cheapest 18" sub from JBL. LMAO...

It proves nothing! It would sound better at lower level because the microphone will pick it up slightly better. Furthermore listening to high SPL db day in and day out will! It will result in tinnitus, but your probably dont know what that is, until you get it, and it never ever goes away! I have mild case of it and its real downer believe me.

Not that low. It's a pro audio sub not a car sub. It probably has an internal cutoff of about 50Hz. It's built for kick drums, bass guitars, floor toms, etc. Not rap. Also, it's camera audio.

they usually cut at 30 hz for 18 inch and around 40 for 15 inches.

I have the the same unpowered version of that sub but I use a Crown CE-2000, does almost 1,900 something watts bridged to it. The sub only weghs like 40 pounds, I got a gig tonight with it. I forgot what it sounds like, but in my house I remember it sounded like the fucken coming of the lord. I cant believe you use yours in your house like that!

we have these subs at my school. We played intergalactic by the beastie through em at about half power and we had a kid sitting on the floor in front and he nearly fell backwards.
