  • Yeah, I know the feeling. Ran out of time on my DH season also. There's always Mt Charleston (just outside of Vegas) and Bootleg Canyon to hit in the off-season... that's where I'll be riding DH starting in Nov. I'm going to post a couple of videos for Bootleg Canyon (XC, not DH)... actually one should be up already. Are you near Vegas?

  • @adventuresportsllc I'm in St. George so reasonably close to Vegas yes.

  • Thanks! Unfortunately I'll have to wait til next season either way. Planned on going this saturday (Oct 1) but this last weekend was the final weekend I guess...lame!

  • It's not just the travel, but the durability (hub size, rim thickness, etc). Sure, you can ride it, it'll just be a little hard on your machine. Don't go banzai over the big stuff and it should be fine. Enjoy!

  • Just double checked, my Fuel EX has 5" travel front and rear. Still think it would limit me too much?

  • Gotcha...thanks. The long stem had me convinced that it wasn't a downhill bike.

  • The bike in the video is a rental, but had 7" travel -- an all mtn bike. I rode my XC bike at Brian Head... once. It didn't fare well. The drops are too big, the rocks are big too, even if you try to find a line around the biggest ones, for something with 3"-4" of travel and not heavy-duty. Bikes are cheap to rent... cheaper than repairs to a nice XC bike. Whatever you decide, have fun!

  • Looks like you're on more of an XC bike rather than a Downhill bike? How was it? Considering hitting Brian Head on my XC bike (2011 Fuel EX 8).
