What a ridiculous statement. Huckabee prevented huge tax increases in Arkansas, and he made government more affective and built roads. He did not think big government was the answer for big needs, that is why he consolidated government institutions, made programs smaller and more affective and vastly improved the quality of service in Arkansas in the process.
At the federal level he has been for greatly reducing spending, just because he sounds like a teddy bear and actually cares about poverty, that does not make him liberal. Actual policies of his are very conservative.
Huckabee gets it right on the Second Amendment; too bad he gets it wrong on just about everything else. If Huckabee wasn't a liberal with more ethics violations in his past than Bill Clinton I would vote for him. Instead, I'll be voting for Ron Paul.

What a ridiculous statement. Huckabee prevented huge tax increases in Arkansas, and he made government more affective and built roads. He did not think big government was the answer for big needs, that is why he consolidated government institutions, made programs smaller and more affective and vastly improved the quality of service in Arkansas in the process.

Ron Paul has just as sound a view of the 2nd Amendment as this man espouses and is much more trustworthy. Politicians can say whatever a given audience "wants" to hear. But Ron Paul really "is" a constitutionalist. Paul-Tancredo2008
