@l1998 Go in the police academy, graduate as a peace officer, go on patrol for 5 years, apply for the K-9 Unit, then become the bad guy bitch for a year or so.. help training K-9's ( bite suit bad guy ) then mabye you'll get approved to start training down the road.

how can the dog tell the diffrence between a police officer and a suspect during a foot persuit? i mean lets say the cop is already chasing the suspect and another cop comes along and releases the dog behing the cop that is chasing the suspect. how does the dog know which one to attack if they are both running??

@SuperLaw911 they can't! That officer will get bitten. The handler should deploy past the other officer or instruct him to stand still. The dog will ignore the officer if he stands still, run past him and detain the fleeing criminal.

@iAREanthonyyy nope there is a different breed for the task you've been assigned such as german sheperds are attack dogs and protect the officer & blood hounds are used to sniff out drugs and or explosive device's.

i LOVED this, these four legged OFFICERS do so much for the public that its hard for ppl who have never seen them in action to understand exactly how important they are. This video is outstanding!!! I loved to see how the dogs responded to the commands from the handlers and how, at the begaining, it shows that they are not just working dogs, but a part of the handler's family as well. They become a family member to their handler and the love & respect that handler & dog have does show.
