  • A superb cast and great action sequences. Might seem a little stilted by today's standards, but that's because, unlike today, filmakers assumed audiences would be patient enough to follow the characters' emotional development.

    Heston at his best.

  • the history world be good play program

  • more like the bore lord all he does is mope around his tower

  • Great movie saw it when I was a kid, Richard Boone was awesome Stockwell over acted like crazy. Heston never played a bad guy in his life. Tony whatever his name was looked out of place Great fight action with all the old war machines. I got to buy this movie

  • OMG!! I remembered a tune from this movie; I was all of SIX when I saw this... the tune is "Love Is Blue". For the past 40 years I have wondered at the name of the song {I learned it @ Christmas while searching for another}, & the name of the movie... which I just learned! I finally thought to go on Google & merely type in "Medieval 1960s movies". *lol* Even at such a young age, I thought this movie was great! To this day I could easily recall many of the scenes I see in this trailer. WOW

  • Although this powerful 1965 Franklin Schaffner-directed romance has abundant, realistically performed fighting scenes, the film is principally a love story, telling the story of a Norman lord, Chrysagon de la Crue.

When you have the DVD, you can appreciate numerous fine points about the directing, acting, script, combat and costuming which, in my opinion, made this one of the best, if not the finest, movie of its decade. I think it was Hestons greatest performance.

  • Hairstyles: pretty accurate per the Bayeaux Tapestry. Jus primae noctis and Droit de

    seigneur are synonymous.

  • This is one of the most facinating and off-beat epics I've ever seen.

    Shame about the hair-styles.

  • @concentricity000 normans really had hair cuts like that though!

  • this is juist like the book of kathleen wooddiwiss-the wolf and the dove-i love this movie

  • Nice video :)

  • Reminds me of WoW.

  • ...Was it Jus primae noctis or Droit de

    seigneur???

  • "...from my cold, dead hands!"

  • LOL
