Expansion tank is with the special rubber ball inside. So you can mount it in any way you want. But when rubber brakes after years, that position you see here is the best becouse you can still pump some air and dont need to replace it
Expansion tank should be pointing down not up. You probably have an air lock in there. Not a major problem, if the system is working ok, but the installer needs to be aware of that for next time.
The cold water inlet temp. is around 57F for the month of April. Hot H2O iss heated to about 120F, thus 63F worth of energy is put in. This will, even on the worst day, get your water up 20F. If there is any let up in the rain at all and you get some hint of sun and you are up to 40F in heat gain. My best day has been a 68.3F gain for a tank temp of 128F, your hot water heat is on holiday at this temp.
Ok we've had this now for two weeks or so and it is working better than expected. My average heat gain so far is 38F. On a rainy day we still get heat gain. Hottest temp in the tank so far: 134 Deg F!!!
We are on Youtube!!!!!! Only had to win an auction and install a solar system!! Seriously this system is great, we have had it less than a week and it performs great. Even on the rainy west coast I still get hot water from the sun for free. Free? Well you know nothing is free but it will be in a few years!
This song rules. Is this Duke or Louis?
