  • Sometimes I wonder if she has a photographic memory. Watch her eyes. It looks like she's looking up to where the music should be.

  • An ultra-feminine and delicately sensuous interpretation. Truly delightful.

  • perfect!

  • @YouLoveChristopher Seeing as though there is no sheet music on the piano, id say it was from memory and not sight reading!!

  • My god i cried like a baby to this one! Your playing is so great, and i would rather hear your fresh tone than many of the "big" composers!

  • blinded by female beauty, she displays great passion but little true representation to the ouvere

¿Ella misma? No creo.

  • At the end it made me a bit cry...

  • @ValentinaLisitsa

I am one of your biggest fans, Piano music to me means mostly chopin. I would love to hear and see playing you the ballade no1 in g minor from op 23.

  • dear Valentina.. the higher Bs in the left hand at the second last bar are quarter notes.. you're not playing them '(you playing eight notes), shame yourself *gg*

    seriously, this was great ;)

PS: i hope my english was correct :D

  • shear elegance, exquisite piece and technically comptetent pianist. We are so lucky to have the chance in listening to Valentina.

  • beautiful

  • It's so lovely...

  • there are 34 retarded people

  • thumbs up if muse - united states of urasia brought you here

  • Beautiful phrasing, absolutely wonderful.

  • She puts her heart to this piece, or fur elise, or rachmaninoff Etude G minor or schuman traumeri, with equal sincere dedication to share these popular pieces as if it is the hardest piece to play. Then she plays Appassionata, or Hammerklavier with same dedication, no excess, no difficulty.

  • WOAH! When I saw this the View count was 358,538. It scared me to death!

  • Exactly on 3:20, chill spreads throughout my body..

  • Thank you!

  • It is impossible to play the piano that beautifully. You are incomprehensibly brilliant.

  • @GaryWaldman You missuse the word impossible, this woman stands an example of what all of us COULD achieve...

  • So lovely

  • I have never seen somebody play the fast part at 3:32 so effortlessly and gracefully. Outstanding performance all around.

  • Valentina, absolutely beautiful playing! Exquisite phrasing, control, tempo, touch and colour. Your playing of Chopin is masterful, to say the least:-) You are able to encapsulate all of Chopin's indications with such sophistication. Well done and please keep up the remarkable work.

  • i love valentina)..

  • That is realy THE BEST i have ever heard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    She lives in the music.

    SUPER!

    Thank you for uploading.

  • Did you notice that she's murmuring something when she plays the piano? I think she was possessed by Chopin himself, that's why this playing is so epic XD

  • 3:17 en adelante... me pone la piel chinita *-*

  • outstanding T_T

  • This a beautiful piece of music, you would not find this on X Factor type crap shows, this is real class (and the pianist too!)

  • @ValentinaLisitsa Hi, I'm really looking for anybody's opinion and please be honest! Okay, so I'm a beginner pianist (like, a couple months) I've only learned two songs: River flows in you (Yiruma) and Fur Elise (Beethoven). I am willing to practise for months until I get this Nocturne perfect. Do you think I will be able to not only learn but EXECUTE this beautiful piece or should I stop this idea now? Any song suggestions? (Really only interested in classical pieces by really old people... :P)

  • @TheComment01 Stop the idea now lol there is no way you can master the touch required to play this properly in just a couple months... (unless you've practiced all day and night... or unless you're a genius like Mozart)

Suggestions? Go play Bach WTC prelude and fugues! They're awesome pieces which are both enjoyable and instructive.

  • @TheComment01 Well, it is quite a jump from Beethoven Fur Elise, there are some difficult sections in the piece but if you are willing to learn it and willing to practice hard then go ahead!

  • Really very nice interpretation

  • Lovely touch, wonderful understanding of the music. MUCH better than most of the other top search results for this piece.

Too many pianists ruin the music by being too fanciful with their interpretations and trying to show off.

  • I like her smile on 1:52 :')

  • Where's the "LOVE" button? ;)

  • @billiamreynolds That's nonsense, not all musicians are writers, many are reciters with no less passion than a band who writes original music for themselves.

  • @thedexterbros that's the whole point, they shouldn't be that passionate. It's just an opinion

  • @billiamreynolds WHAT is the whole point? My point is that obviously real musicians ARE that passionate about music that isn't their own. Have you seen the genuine emotion that Bobby Darin had when he sang "Once Upon a Time" live ? (A song which he didn't write). Even if it is all for show... it's a show, so why not?

  • OMG this is amazing, god bless you :) you really are a very very talented person (:

  • awesome!!! one of my favorite songs ever. i first hear this in the seventh grade at the Kamehameha Prep School, Honolulu, Hi. it was 1962, class started at 8am and at 7:55 we would have meditaion, many times it would be Chopin's Eb Nocturne. its just so beautiful and Velentina Lisitsa does it sooooooo beautiful. just amazing!!!

  • @ValentinaLisitsa Hello Valentina and thank you so much for the music you play. I just had to work late at my computer and your music kept rEALLY good company. You like what you do and that's a living example to me of what humans can be.

On amazon there is the Schubert Transcription by Liszt DVD and the Chopin 24 Etudes DVD. But on your site it says Chopin 24 etudes project: awaiting final mix.

And also Liszt project : September 2011 TBA

Are all these different things ?

    Thank you be well

  • @ytonaona Valentina has recorded and self-released three DVD's: Chopin 24 études, Schubert/Liszt Schwanengesang and Black&Pink. Because they're self-released, it's tricky to get those if one lives outside the USA - Amazon being the only place they're available.

More recently Valentina has recorded all the Rachmaninoff concerti and the Chopin études for CD. I think Naxos is the record label. Too bad Naxos never seems to release Valentina's recordings - take the Totentanz etc. CD for example.

  • @belegSJ There's also the Liszt project, that will be recorded completely to vinyl. It was supposed to be recorded this fall but thanks to the hurricane Irene things got delayed - all the way to December! At least that's what I think.

So there will be plenty of Valentina's recordings in the future - given that Naxos releases them... The Rachmaninoff concerti recording was recorded ages ago but still Naxos is hesitating with it. We just have to hope they wont be assholes :))

  • @belegSJ Hi, Valentina kindly replied that Chopin project is a recording of Chopin Etudes for a CD release. Her original DVD had sound that was OK for video but not so great to compete with major labels releases. So she wanted to do it properly this time. Right now it's in editing stage.

Liszt was supposed to be done in September and released in time for Liszt's upcoming birthday. Unfortunately hurricane Irene messed thighs up quite a bit. [...] Now the recording has moved to December.

  • @belegSJ I like that Valentina likes to do things properly. So let's be patient :)

  • It's Gwyneth Paltrow playing the piano!

  • @SpazBunnyStudios Haha yes! When I first saw her I though the same !

  • Stunning ! And thank you. Les.

  • The sheer magic of your music makes me want to spend the remainder of my life with you. Said tongue in cheek of course, but thank you for touching my soul

  • Gorgeous performance!!

  • Sublime! Muse+Chopin = United States of Eurasia (+Collateral Damage)

  • You have an amzing touch - outstanding performance!

  • super

  • Beautiful. So effortless as well

  • I think this is probably the finest rendition of Nocturne I've ever heard.

  • I have the Nocturnes as recorded by Peres and consider them very fine. But now I wonder if Valentina has plans to record all the nocturnes as I would like to have that set as well. Wow, how I love her playing!

  • @technoameba

    Lol~ me too

  • Wow is the only word i could say about this... Its perfect... *sobs

  • Dexter brought me here

  • @NumbFlynn me2

  • My favorite part is from 0:00 to 4:03

  • pianist is the movie

  • Reminds me of better times

  • I think she just got that piano pregnant!

  • Amazing!

  • Comment removed

  • She looks pregnant in that dress

  • love this video

  • Wow. Wow. What a beautiful expression. Probably the best I've seen.

  • @billiamreynolds Does it matter? Even if she would be playing this while standing on her head, the music would still be beautiful and in the end, this is wat matters.

  • @cr1ptkeeper you should hear her play this while im fucking your mom while she's standing on her head

  • Respond to this video... thats what matters

  • DISLIKE is NOT = THIS I LIKE :!!!

  • @ reu91: poser! :)

  • I love the way she touch on the piano :)

  • nice, I love the flowing of your hands from note to note and the song really flows, your also very relaxed which is just great

  • WONDERFULL, you play very nicely ! Thanks for this upload :-)

  • The sounds and nuances, that technique! I LOVE THIS WOMAN!

  • i love how modern Chopin's music still is today. Muse used this on their latest CD and it sounded great, even on a rockrecord like Muse makes. You just don't get that with many other composers
