I will expose a big secret. They ran the camera scanning reverse, so that Rosemary Margan was writing normally on the glass, not in reverse.

When I was a kid I remember seeing her do the weather. She would draw different aspects of the weather onto the transparent screen with a black texta pen, and sometimes it would run out of ink half way through the presentation.

This must be what I remember from the late 1960s, although I remember it differently from what I saw here. I thought Rosemary had been wearing a fur coat which she took off and revealed a bikini. I doubt that she did two such similar gimmicks, so I must assume this version is the one that I saw and have misremembered it, although the guy walking on a removing her clothes must have been edited out. This was pretty hot stuff at the time.
