what do we use salt for the lamp?

@trankhach I have learned a lot since this lamp, use Propylene glycol in the water to add weight instead of salt, it won't cloud or corrode your coil. You will still have to use a little surfactant, I use Maguires crystal car wash.

little time consuming but worth it web site OOZING GOO.COM.GO TO THE FORMULA PAGE.buy 1 box of canning wax go to advance auto and buy a can of non flamable breakleen. melt 2/3rd wax and mix 1/3rd cup of breakleen stir in a mason jar till it cools thats the lava.use distilled water for the lamp water and leave a 5"gap water line so you can add disolved canning salt water to equil out the density of the water.only use about 2 pin head drops of dish soap.takes about 2 hrs to level out lamp

Why does your lava lamp stay with one glob in the middle and do random things? Mine just sends a glob to the top and they fall back to the bottom and get re-absorbed. Do you know why this is?

Nice goo. It folds nicely and maintains clarity. I can't seem to stop mine from bubbling up and getting cloudy. Though, I make it very runny. I use a mixture of wax, gel wax for stretchiness, turpentine and chlorinated brake parts cleaner (ethylene tetrachloride) for weight in water with a bit of dish soap. Do tell if your mixture is not a secret.

how long did that lamp last? thelavacave says the brake cleaner eventually settles out of the wax and it wont flow anymore. i want to make one that looks exactly like yours.

Eh i do like it a lot but i recommend glycol instead of salt. Better for the lamp and more lavalamp like performance as this one is a bit runny

Hi Trevor, yes, it was the first one I had done, and i do like it runny. I have made glycol fluid for several of my lamps and it is infinitely better than a salt solution!

mix it all it but fill the bottle half full wid water n fill the rest wid water den add colouring then auqaselca tables n shuv a light behind it p.s yes add glitter for a nicer effect
