hey i have the game downloaded from online no cd but when i go to run the patch this instantly pops up "Blizzard PrePatch v2.70 compiled on Jul 7 2003

@XxSSJ5GogetaxX Try running as administrator; it's likely that your permission settings are a bit too strict, and it can't properly patch the file.

Additionally, try running in compatibility mode for XP after doing the above.

hi buddy, if u have the existing installed from normal windows OS, you can just copy from the Program file Warcraft Folder, and paste it inside your Vaio P harddisk Program file folder. no installation needed

i dont get why people always use Deamon Tools to install a game if it is an ISO. You als can extract it with 7zip or something, and run setup.exe

(thats how is installed de downloaded WC3)

I simply enjoy Daemon Tools.

For some things it requires that a virtual drive be mounted, and extracting it doesn't always work.

As a result, it's easier to just use it for everything than to have both programs for each situation.

I like 7zip as well, but ehh. Mounting the file virtually makes it easier to delete later on as one .iso file rather than keeping track of the folders.. and it's bigger when unzipped.

@alricky I'd probably recommend reinstalling; check your network connection and make sure that's working.. something has to be be messed up for that to happen.

The CD key is what will validate the game and let you play online- if you have a maliciously obtained copy then you will only be able to play locally.

It's probably possible, but I can't guarantee it. I don't play WOW and don't really plan to. Sorry.

I can confirm AION: Tower of eternity doesn't work, at least on the 1.33GHz version. It almost gets there, but falls short just barely.

Ah, If you need the install you can rip the .iso from the CD, gamecopyworld has a patch to make it so you can play with no-cd, or you can use the blizzard update for the game that fixed the previous problem of needing the CD :)

if you own the original game, then you can simply network it with another computer that can run it, copy the files over or use daemon tools/nero if you need to rip the cd, then use the tools again to mount it, install the no-cd patch by googling for it, and you're good to go!
