Humberto Fontova is an infamous lying right-wing fascist and anti-Cuban propagandist.
His only qualifications have always been that he (1) knows how to drink beer, (2) shoot deer, and (3) had a war criminal daddy who worked for the dictator Batista who killed 20,000 Cubans - and yet somehow he has parlayed that into a career as a Faux News wing nut and anti-Fidel & Che Goebbels.
Fontova is a fraudulent LIAR who nobody takes seriously, except for some Miami exile gusano blogs.
This guy is a hypocrite about Carter shaking hands with Castro. The United States supports repressive regimes all over the world, but when it's Cuba all the sudden it's an outrage. Some of those repressive regimes. Turkmenistan. Uzbekistan. Saudi Arabia. Pakistan Yemen Honduras Egypt Guatemala . Typical right wing hypocrisy and double standards Toward Cuba and left wing countries.
@M73Kevin Your comment takes his speech out of context. His speech is clearly focused on the one issue of Castro's being a crazy enemy, and Carter giving him a warm welcome. That the US supports other repressive regimes -- no question about it. But this guy is not a hypocrite. He's simply staying on topic.
"I have yet to find a single credible source pointing to a case where Che executed 'an innocent'. Those persons executed by Guevara or on his orders were condemned for the usual crimes punishable by death at times of war or in its aftermath: desertion, treason or crimes such as rape, torture or murder. I should add that my research spanned five years, and included anti-Castro Cubans among the Cuban-American exile community in Miami and elsewhere."
I want to preempt any castroites who show their slimy presence on this video and say that I, as a historian of the cold war, have read Humberto's work and everything he says can be double checked. He is absolutely, 100% right and is the greatest scholar of Cold War latin american History I have ever seen. Anyone who cares about the truth should follow Humberto's work at babalublog
This man is brave and a hero.
