Mauricio Shogun Rua was considered the best 205 pounder in the world when he was at his peek in Pride, he came injured to the UFC and had a couple of bad performances, nevertheless he could give a doses of ass whoopin' to anybody including the most elusive fighter in MMA.
I was very impressed by MAchida's last two fights, where he actually fought and wasn't just running around like a pussy. So i think this is gonna be a legendary fight in the history of the light heavyweight division. I would say this is a 50/50 chance for any of this two great fighters. Prediction: SHogun by decision.

I think if it was not a title fight, Shogun would have won by decision, but he didnt win decisively enough to win a belt. I think the judges might have been afraid to screw up the "machida era" with such a close fight. I think Shogun won the fight, but by the scoring system somehow the knees and punches of Machida scored more than Shoguns kicks. Im going to watch it again.

Rua won. He won the first 2 rounds... the 3rd round could have went either way. Machida may have won the 3rd cause of his little furry with 30secs left. Rua definitly won the 4th. Rua won the 5th... Machida was wore out and basically did nothing that round. Machida did throw more punches throughout the whole fight, but just about all of them were blocked by Rua. Rua won the fight on his leg kicks alone. Dana even told Rua he won the fight. Thats why theyre having a rematch. Rua did more damage.

Striking: Shogun obviously landed way more, Machida's combos missed 4 out of 5 strikes. Shogun landed constant kicks to Machida's sides and legs in all 5 rounds.
Agression: Machida ran backwards the ENTIRE time and did absolutely nothing.

I was too scared to make predictions like usual cause something didn't seem right. Something in the back of my head got me nervous, like Shogun had a chance. Anyone can be defeated though just like when Fedor loss to Arona, but the judges did not come through. Dana has said that he thought Rua won but that could be a cover up. He'll make more money on the rematch. Rua won this hands down. I would have been raging if I loss and spent all that time training.

If all 5 rounds were judged in a non-title fight, perhaps. But I gave the first 3 rounds to Machida and Shogun the final 2. It was a close fight though and Shogun proved how talented he is.

Rua won. He won the first 2 rounds... the 3rd round could have went either way. Machida may have won the 3rd cause of his little furry with 30secs left. Rua definitly won the 4th. Rua won the 5th... Machida was wore out and basically did nothing that round. Machida did throw more punches throughout the whole fight, but just about all of them were blocked by Rua. Rua won the fight on his leg kicks alone. Dana even told Rua he won the fight. Thats why theyre having a rematch. Rua did more damage.

Machida flat out, straight up LOST that fight. Anyone who thinks otherwise seriously knows nothing about the scoring system of the UFC.
Grappling: not much there but Shogun did all of it.
Striking: Shogun obviously landed way more, Machida's combos missed 4 out of 5 strikes. Shogun landed constant kicks to Machida's sides and legs in all 5 rounds.
Agression: Machida ran backwards the ENTIRE time and did absolutely nothing.

I was too scared to make predictions like usual cause something didn't seem right. Something in the back of my head got me nervous, like Shogun had a chance. Anyone can be defeated though just like when Fedor loss to Arona, but the judges did not come through. Dana has said that he thought Rua won but that could be a cover up. He'll make more money on the rematch. Rua won this hands down. I would have been raging if I loss and spent all that time training.

there are two of my favorite fighters but I commented many times that if there was someone that was going to give Machida some trouble was going to be Shogun. Shogun is an amazing fighter and has done very well in Pride but this title shot is not in Pride it's in the UFC where Rua is only 2-1. One of those wins was pathetic. The only reason he got a shot is because Rampage couched TUF 10 and had to fight Rashad. Look it up, the title shot was originally offered to Quinton. No disrespect but Shogun needed another win or two first.

Too bad Pride was all rigged and set up to give certain guys (Shogun) a HUGE advantage. I'm not sure I'd take his success there all that heavily. Look at most of the Pride guys that have come over. Only a small amount have had any lasting success or success at the highest ranks.

great predictions guys! I enjoy watching these vids there not boring prediction vids that youtubes piled with, u guys give MMA predictions the "Fun" factor to it. Keep up the good work!
