The Medic class can be a good fighting class if you use the right items. I usually use the syringe gun that gives +3 hp per hit and use the Kritzkrieg taunt to help if I am on fire or want a teammate to destroy the other team. Ubersaw, is a good melee wep to have.

With the Solemn Vow, you can heal your team until it's time to go do something, then grab a pick on a Pyro/Scout/Medic and continue on your merry way.

Once you learn how to aim the Blutsauger., Battle Medic is so fucking fun. I'd never actually use it playing seriously, but it is probably the most fun subclass behind Gunslinger Engie. Fuck you Demoknight.

@ddd8828 I've been in plenty of teams where I was the only competent medic, and we still won. One good medic is all it takes.

I use the ubersaw because I view the rewards worth the risk, and if I pull out a melee weapon, It's probably a last resort anyway.

And the 3rd thing is what I basically just said, It's fun, it can wreck people that don't know what they're doing, but it's still useless in a situation where you either A) Don't have any competent medics B) You're the only medic.

Not true.

With the Blutsauger, you recover 120 less HP per minute passively, which means you need to land 40 needles per minute to match the passive regen with the syringe gun. And unless you're a battle medic, you're pretty much guaranteed to not be able to match that.

The Kritzkrieg is useful on defense for pushing the opposing team back, but the lack of invincibility means the medic can be killed easily by a sniper or spy, canceling the kritz completely.

Yeah, the Medic can be a good battleclass. With 150 nice hp, autoheal, a melee weapon with nice damage, especially on crits, and an unlockable gun that sprays health to you :P
