This was a nice rendition of a Yom Tov cantorial medley. What makes any cantor's performance great is the way a cantor sings solfege, with accurate timing, using melismatic passages, allowing for the musical ensemble accompanying the vocalist, to come through. It takes intensive voice training to hold notes for long periods of time. I personally find this hard, even if I've been told that I have a wonderful singing voice, so I appreciate the work that it takes to become a maestro.
Yashar Koach! Thank you for your contribution to the world of Hazzanut. Please send any Arias you sing as well. Do you enjoy Italian opera as well? Best regards! - Hazzan Presler
Simon Cohen does what most chazzanim only dream of doing: elegant vocalisation from Hebrew texts with an even range up to the highest register without the slightest straining or thinning. His breath control and portamento are also testament to his training in the art - like Helfgot, Farkas and a small group of others. The full Shabbat service needs staying power and makes another difference between opera and chazzanut (with the exception of a few Wagnerian roles). Mazel tov! And good health!
This is definitely my favourite Chazan, I go to all his concerts, his voice is both velvet and touches my heart and enspires my soul with those amazing top notes!! You make it look so easy!
Maravilloso, su voz me llega al alma; es la versión más hermosa de Unetane Tokef que he escuchado!

What does a chazan look like then, Sir?

@stanleycohen Surely you jest! Look at Motzen; look at Miller; look at Yosele Rosenblatt. This guy looks like a Protestant.

What an amazing Chazan! His voice is world class!
I feel truely inspired by his spirituality, this will make a real difference to my Yom Kippur, if only our Chazen could sing like this! Manchester UK
Can anyone advise when his next performance is?

This voice gets better every time I hear it.
May it continue to do so to the benefit of us all and the glorification of the Ribono shel Olom.
