What life is about ... running to the light. Personally, it's become the signature song. Brilliant creative performance by the band. Energy personified. Special tip of the hat for the superfine fiddle playing.
@RisingOfTheMoon If you like great fiddle players check out (if you have'nt already) David Lindley on Jackson Browne's old video Before The Deluge. Both of these guys are a bit special !!
@Roundhay46 thank you! i love Jackson Browne & will look for that video. My other fav fiddlers: Scarlet Rivera (w/ Bob Dylan), Milla Crann (w/ The Silencers), and Ashley MacIsaac.
Absolutely love the words in this song - not sure if it's about someone approaching Death or someone opening up their eyes to all the beautiful things in the world - FAB.
What can a man say... Malcom, the more i know you, the bether you become. Sad to say, that Donnie, had to chance his shoise, for you to get the space you needed to become the musical rose that you are. Bruce and the new Runrig, realy give you the space, to show what hiddden tallent you have during Donnie. Thaks for that. Keep on showing what multitalent you are, the way you make the guitar talk, speak... Do me a favor..never try to run for parlement
Greetings from Redlands, ca. Love this band, I am an avid listener of Celtic Crush on Spectrum, Sirius xm satelite radio, this band gets a lot of play there.
what a sad story about the astronauts and this song. Last weekend I went with my son and his friends for his birthdayparty to Space Expo in Noordwijk Holland. Hard to believe that in such shuttles/stations they lived for three months. RIP all astronauts.
When the shuttle blew up almost everything was destroyed, but this album. Which was strewn across miles of landscape but intact.. The disc was presented framed to the band at a charity night in glasgow a few years ago, by the husband and son of the fallen astronaut.
I was told by a Runrig fan (hes since got me into their music!) that this song was being played on the space shuttle that blew up just after it took off. I vaguley remember it being on the news, think it was a group of teachers and think it happened in the early 90's but could be wrong, very sad.
Thank you for sharing :) beautiful song and amazing group:) i love listening to Runrig i listen to them everyday since i came across there music recently :)...Thank you again ..
runrig probably 1 of the best celtic rock/folk bands to ever emerge from these sacred celtic lands

They played this song aboard the space shuttle which burned up re-entering in 2003.
The CD was found in tact and still playable amongst wreckage.
It's such a sad story :( RIP Laurel Clark and crew.

Rory is the best and his voice is amazing!

@Emalaith89 He's very tall you know?
He is about 6ft something, I am very short, when I met him and Malc after a show, god I had to put my neck up, due to how tall he is.
Got quite stubby fingers, a real worker type of man is Rory, really great guy aswell!

Just checked, it was in 1986 a group of 7 astronauts one being a teacher, all died. Gives a new meaning to this song now.

bin ich der einzige, der bei dem intro und dem rest des liedes irgendwie an einen film über kampfjets wie "top gun" denken muss?
am i the only one who is thinking of a jet fighter movie like "top gun" when the musik begins?
